I like this restaurant. The food is great, and so is the price.

okay so I ordered something for pickup off the lunch special and requested a different type of noodle instead of the regular noodle. They said okay so I went to pick up my order...

Ehh, Not My Favorite 5/7/2010

I went here a while back with two friends for lunch and definitely dug the lunch special: about 15 entree choices for $7. I liked my bun xao, but wasn't blown away. And I could have gone for extra fish sauce. The curry was not good at all and the sesame chicken surprised my friend and was pretty tasty. It's not bad, but it's not great so I'd rather explore elsewhere. Pros: Good lunch special, decent bun xao and sesame chicken Cons: Curry more

Great food, good prices, no dawdling 1/22/2010

L'Annam was one of my favorite lunch spots when I went to school in the neighborhood. Lunch specials are under $10 for huge portions. My favorite are the grilled pork chops. it's ideal for those with a timed lunch break because the service is lightening quick. The flip side of that is that if you're just trying to sit back and relax you may feel a little rushed. Pros: Lunch specials, great if you're in a rush Cons: Not a place for a relaxing more

good food reasonable price 6/22/2009

The food is tasty, the price is right, service is quick. Its not exactly the place to go if you want to have a long relaxing meal but its great for new yorkers with little time who want to eat and go. more

Yummy 4/24/2009

unpretentious restaurant focusing on food. Great food, never lets me down. I get the chicken saigon noodles in a brown sauce. Pros: good food, price more

Really good for quick and cheap 1/6/2009

Really good for quick and cheap Vietnamese food. The only problem I had was that i asked to make the food spicy and it was still just plain. Pros: Good food and cheap Cons: I like my food a bit more spicy! more

Great food, good service and fantastic value 7/16/2007

I like this restaurant. The food is great, and so is the price. more

Delicious 11/20/2006

The shrimp pad thai is absolutely delicious. I usually get it to go at lunch and I'm over whelmed by the large portion that's laden with shrimp. IO've yet to try any other dish there since I'm quite picky but i definitely would recommend it. But get an extra fish sauce on the side though. Pros: Large portions, fast service Cons: Noisy at times, limited seating more

alright 11/8/2006

When I dined in, the pho noddle soup was acceptable, but the broth isn't as rich as it is at pho places in chinatown. When I got delivery from here, the food was a little better. more

Great Cheap Eats Vietnamese 10/22/2006

If you're ready for a change of pace, this is a great place for cheap eats. The soups average about $4 a bowl for a small and the plates are often no more than $15. The Hot & Sour Soup with Shrimp Wontons is one of my personal faves. The Beef Chowfun is good as well. There are many vegetarain dishes for those non-meat eaters out there. Overall, a greal place to try. more

Big portions and good flavors 9/29/2006

I've been to this place three different times. Each one is better that the previous one. Definitively one of my favourites. I've had all kind of appetizers, all of them are good. I love the chicken curry soups, the noodles, the pad thai... everything is delicious, big plates and excellent prices! Pros: Fast, fresh food, big portions more

larger than normal portions of vietnamese food 9/4/2006

ive ordered out from the university place branch of this restaurant, but yesterday was my first time eating here. the place is pretty big, and there are comfortable booths and tables. the three of us were seated in a cushy round corner booth, which i liked a lot. Pros: large portions, nice service, good noodles Cons: pho broth lacking flavour more

Cheap eats, delicious food 6/28/2006

I love this place! My friends and I have made it ""our"" place. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The grilled porkchops are my favorite. # S14 is a great value and plenty of food (porkchops over noodles) Order sauteed stringbeans and ask for extra garlic. It's fabulous! When they have it, get the special vegetable of the day: Watercress with garlic. They only have it once in a while but if you see it on the specials menu, GET IT! Everything is very tasty and its worth every penny! You can definitely get nice and stuffed with tons of food for 12 bucks per person! Pros: Great porkchops, awesome service, good eats! Cons: None I can think of more

Spotty at best, awful at worst 8/17/2005

Look out for slow service: the food has been overcooked or has been sitting around. We have tried this place a dozen times, and it never gets better. It was good once, but has slipped badly. Avoid especially on Sundays. Pros: tasty, good value, clean Cons: overcooked, bland, poor service more

Very good food at great prices 8/14/2005

Just ate here this past weekend. While not authentic Vietnamese, L'Annam serves very good food (think of it as a Chinese interpretation of Vietnamese food). Prices are reasonable and portions are very generous. Service was quick and friendly. For appetizers, we shared summer rolls and spring rolls - they were good, not great. For an entree, I had the grilled pork chops and my girlfriend had the basil chicken with jumbo shrimp - both were great. This is one of the cleanest ""Vietnamese"" restaurants I've been to. more

L16! 3/16/2005

The food is great - delicious pad thai and crystal dumplings. fast, hot food, pretty inexpensive. And they have take out and free delivery Pros: yummy, fast Cons: sometimes crowded, but not for long more

Spring rolls to die for! 12/2/2004

I love this place and I recommend it to everyone that I know. They have THE best spring rolls. They might have large servings, but they are happy to wrap up left overs for you. And if you are more than one person, then it's perfect sharing sizes. Pros: inexpensive, tasty food, nice atmosphere more

The best Viet food in town!! 7/30/2004

This place is amazing and the value is absolutely incredible. If you want very generous potions of fresh food at a fair price this is the place for you!! Vegie dumplings are incredible and they're soups are amazing!! Pros: Food, Value more

Don't bother 6/6/2004

Numerous times have the people of Lannam gotten my order wrong. I don't why it's so hard to put lettuce in a bowl with their carrot dressing (I hate rice, is a substitute too much to ask for?). Not only that, the proportions are way too big. There's no reason for a dish prepared for one to be able to feed a family of 6. How American of you Lannam!!! more
