You suffered a tremendous loss and, believe it or not, I feel your pain and understand your frustration. I too lost loved ones, including an Uncle (60?s) and younger cousin (40?s), to pancreatic cancer. It is devastating. In each case, the diagnosis was late and the conclusion once diagnosed was horrible. The symptoms are masked, as you know, and other diagnosis? are proposed from depression to ?. They are typically bogus; in other words, it?s a pistol to diagnose. Additionally, as a layperson not in the medical field, I assume a Family Practice doctor would refer to outside specialists, which apparently occurred with the other Doctor specializing in gastro-etc. It would seem the specialist would report to Dr. Lampinen and he could then determine further referrals.
