Lakewood Automotive Repair

I am a customer of Lakewood automotive. I do not have a groupon DISCOUNT book I never have and I never will. YOU KNOW WHY? I DO NOT NEED A coupon boo because these guys are the real deal. This shop is amazing. They already have great rates. I dont need a FREE OIL CHANGE 27 point inspection coupon. Sounds like Hailey did not want to spend the money. Did you go in to the shop? If I had a issue which I never have. I would have gone in and taked to them face to face. They would have resolved my issue. I have had a total of 4 cars in ten years time. They installed a engine in my SUV and I drove it 6 years no issues. Have a 2 door compact car that just broke down had it towed in, got it fixed NO ISSUES. I thought the world of Mike Bower and considering the front desk girl was related to him. I just found out over a year ago he passed stage four cancer. This girl that works there has more guts than me to keep going into work then have to deal with idiots like Hailey. You need to weigh reviews with a grain of salt. Everyone does not share all sides of a story. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME and if I did not have lakewood automotive I dont know what I would do. I depend on them and they deliver ALL THE TIME more

I just bought a used car and took it in to get it looked at. I was thinking I could use one of the many groupon coupons that I had. $103.00 later none of the groupons from the book would work. The 27 point inspection didn't work. The pre purchase inspection didn't work either. The office manager lady said they wouldn't work because they would have to do a ""special"" inspection. As far as I know the mechanic drove it around and took a look underneath the car, but that was about all he did (for $103.00!). Ryan said he needed to pressure wash underneath the car and replace the windshield wiper reservoir and a tune up. I asked for a rough estimate and the office manager said at least $1,000. I was also worried because when I drove the car it wasn't driving very well. Ryan said that he drove it without any issues. I left the shop on Friday shortly after 5pm. I got to steilacoom and bridgeport and the car was NOT driving right. I immediately took it to another shop. They mechanic there was REALLY friendly and took a look at my car for FREE! He even had me come with him so we could both look at what was going on. Just by opening the hood he immediately saw a hose missing along with some other semi serious issues (NONE of which Ryan found with my $103.00). I have emailed Lakewood Automotive Repair and called asking for a detailed explanation of what they did. It is now Wednesday and I have heard nothing back from them. Oh, and they were also suppose to call me first thing on Monday morning to give me an more accurate estimate for fixing my car...still no call for that either. \r I'm sure if you just need your oil changed or if you have minor repairs this is a good place. Or if you are a male, I feel that given my age and the fact that I'm a girl that gave them even a bigger reason to screw me over. If you go here just make sure you know exactly where your money is going to. I totally feel like I got ripped off and being a full-time student and a single mother of two I really don't have $103 to just give away. There goes our Thanksgiving dinner...but at least I did learn a valuable lesson. \r BTW if anyone wants a book full of Groupon coupons to this place let me know, maybe you will have better luck and can actually get them to take some of them. more

Do not recommand to no one especialy if your military. Took my wife car there for something simple that I could have and should have done my self. End up paying Double on top of that 3 1/2 weeks later I suffer the same problem on what they should had fix more

I love these guys! I been a customer since 1999. Mike and Jessica have bent over backwards to help me. They even came in on there day off so I could pick up my car! These guys are awesome more

Took car in for an oil leak and when I drove it out of the garage, it had an idling problem it hadn't had previously. They wanted to charge me $1200 tor replace the idle control valve when three other garages quoted me about $157 for the same part. I asked for the reason for the price discrepancy but Mike never replied- guess don't rate as a female. Everyone says they do good work, don't know what to make of this...but my car is leaking oil again. more

Really nice staff, but very high priced; not open weekends. Wanted to charge me a total of between $1600 and $2K to replace a total of 3 sensors on my engine. I priced the parts on the net and all I can figure is that they must charge a lot for labor or have a price markup on parts. In these recessionary times, this is NOT the place to go. more

Mike and his staff are the best. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive. The difference? The most integrity and honesty you'll ever run across. Work is completed timely, they keep clients up to date on what's going on. Bottom line, they treat EVERY client as though you were their ONLY client. Will never go anywhere else. more

I didnt actually take my van in. I made a phone call and over the phone the person answered my questions. I did exactly as told and was able to fix my issue myself. The person could have just as easily told me to bring it in but being a quick and easy fix they just helped me do it. more

I found Lakewood Automotive while searching for a business to do routine maintence on my vehicle while my husband was deployed to Iraq. He does some of our routine maintence but while he was deployed I needed a place that would be fair and honest. I am so glad I found Lakewood Automotive. The staff is friendly, fair, and honest about estimates and time needed to complete repairs or diagnostic evaluations. I would recommend this business to all my friends and family. PROS: fair, honest, friendly CONS: not easy to find more
