Bad Billing Office and Receptionist 4/20/2010

After 11 years of taking my son to Lakewood Pediatrics, I received a letter saying they would no longer see my son- who has been their patient since he was 1 year-old. During a visit last month I asked the receptionist if we had any outstanding balance on our account. They said no. Apparently, a miscommunication from the back office to the front: I owed $16.76. I called the billing/office manager to clear it up. She informed me that after 11 years of seeing my son the $16 and their policy was more important. Is this the kind of place you want to take your children? Not me. more

Bad Service after Dr. Schoenike Left 4/20/2010

After Dr. Shoenike left the service went downhill. They fired the kindest nurse and the other nurses spoke openly about it to patients. Dr. Tan's lacks the kind bed side manner of Dr. Shoenike. Dr. Tan's inappropriate customer/patient remarkes included telling me as a mother that I should not work. more

Dr. Wessinger best Doctor around! 4/7/2010

Dr. Wessinger is a wonderful Doctor, we've been going to him since Feb 2008, he's always answered all questions we've had, he's straight forward but in a good way.. He takes his time and doesnt just rush out of the room.. He's wonderful.. We just had our second Daughter March 10th, 2010 and are continuing to go to him. We now live in Puyallup, and drive the 35+ mins to go to him, because he does so well. The staff is wonderful, nurses are great & just all around a lovely place to go. They do meet & greets so i'd tell everyone to do that first and meet the Doctors, truly good Doctors.. Office gets you in same day, most of the time.. They have walk-in's and Saturday appts as well. more

love it! 3/16/2010

My son just turned 2 and has been seeing doctor Tan since his first check up. I love the staff and the doctor. They always make my family and I comfortable and never make me feel like we have a stupid question. I recommend them to anyone!!! more

Dr. Weissinger 2/17/2010

I have been going to his office for the last 5 years since we moved here. I love his nurse Sharyl. I made a appt for my 2 sons health exam and was told my nurse no longer worked there. SHE was the main reason we stayed. He is a nice doctor but i loved the personal attention the nurse had with my kids. She knew them by face. I found out thru his new nurse that she was "Let go". What kind of place gets rid of one of the best nurses. she called us back on timely manner when i called for a question. Always reminding me if my kids needed vaccines. She always had the forms done before we left the office. I never had to come back for them. I am truly sadded that they let go of a wonderful nurse more

update --- on Receptionist = frustration 1/11/2010

Ok. So, I'm not going to be going here anymore. Simply put -- this is an office for families with either one kid, or kids spread out in age (who do not need back-to-back apts .... and don't get sick at the same time. Office policy is that they can only sceldule 2 apts. per family per day. So, me with my 4 kids, I cannot schedule 3 (or 4) well-baby check-ups back-to back. Anybody with multiples, basically, is discouraged from being a patient. More office policy is that there can only be ONE new patient exam per family per day. This DOES not work when you have more than one kid. I recieved this information NOT from the receptionist .... she had a hard time communicating (in Englsih) to me. I was transferred to the office manager. All conversation was cordial (I kept my cool), and fully understood. If you have one kid ... go for it. If you have more than one kid spread out in age ... good luck (just pray more than 2 don't get sick at once). more

Receptionist = Frustration 1/11/2010

The doctors are good enough (nothing that would make me glow and want to sing names from mountain tops). But, in my quest to find a new doctor in the area, I have about had it with the receptionist(s) here - for many reasons. After all, the receptionist(s) (and the continued mistakes) are the reason we left Ped. NW. I will say, in this economy, when there are a LOT of people looking for work. You'd think you could get a receptionist that knows what they're doing, listens to the patient, and is clear in their understanding of how to book apts. I'm going to give it one more try (3rd time's a charm, right?) ... update to come. more

Dr. Wessinger 8/3/2009

Good: My daughter is 18mons and has been going there since she was a newborn, they have great service & their staff does great, they get you right in same day if need be. I love it there. I live 30mins from it now and still take her there.. Bad: There isn't one thing I could say bad about this place.. Other: I would at least do a meet in greet there if you aren't sure, it's a wonderful place.. more

Best Pediatrician...Dr. Schoenike! 8/3/2005

My son is now almost 15 months and has been with Dr. Schoenike for the entire time. The office is very easy to get to, the have a lot parking and are even open on Saturdays. The receptionist, nurses and all the docs are extremely friendly and helpful. Even when I had silly little "baby" questions for them I was always called back in a timely manner and even given appts within minutes for my son. I love this place and would never want to take my son anywhere else. more
