Lac Viet Bistro ! Love this place! A definite place to visit ! \r Where you will find great food, lovely ambiance and solid value. I am no Vietnamese food expert...meaning that I pretty much order the exact same thing at each restaurant I go to...but the experience at Lac Viet Bistro was different for me. I'd say the food here is the best of what I've tried! \r \r I visited Orlando for the first time and dined here this past weekend. Lac Viet Bistro menu itself is very elegant. Its cover is made of wood that looks like from bamboo plants and the inside presentation is well-planed out. I haven't seen anything like it before. And oh my gosh the menu is extensive, I mean beside the standard Vietnamese beef noodle soup and rice platters there are other Vietnamese dishes that are not served elsewhere. I would say this place is definitely more ""authentic"" then many of the other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. What I LOVE is that there is an English description for everything on the menu. And the description is good enough that you really don't need to ask a million questions. \r \r I tried and would recommend the Tofu with lemongrass and chili peppers .....AMAZING!!!! and their chicken wings, crispiness was perfect and had a buttery taste to them. Pho and vermicelli was also good, but the tofu with lemongrass you have got to try. \r \r This is one of those places in Orlando, FL I actually would not hesitate on recommending to an out-of-towner. I've also met Andre, the owner, and he is such an incredible man! he's a cool guy that takes care of his customers well. This is one of those businesses I am happy to support for years to come.\r \r more

Lac Viet shines in Orlando's Little Vietnam neighborhood 4/14/2011

Lac Viet just might be the best ethnic restaurant in the area. It's a great spot for a date night or a dinner with friends. Order the hot pot and impress your tablemates--the flavor is fantastic and it's really a showstopper of a dish. Read my full review and subscribe here: exm.nr/el3sL7 more

Simply the best Vietnamese Restaurant in Orlando 3/5/2011

This definitely has to be the best Vietnamese that I've tried in Orlando. Most of these Vietnamese restaurants in Viet Down are kinda run down with no ambiance to speak of, but Lac Viet has that quaint and elegant Asian feel that almost seems obligatory in finding a good Asian restaurant. They don't let a superficial shell of elegance do all the talking, however. The food stands up with a big statement and lets you know they are for real. The pho is delicious, the noodles are wonderful, and their entrees taste fabulous. One of my favorite dishes there is the ginger and chili spiced chicken. The flavors come from every corner and you feel overwhelmed with happiness as you polish off the plate. They also have great pork, shrimp, and a wide array of vegetarian dishes. more

Excellent Food, Great Decor 2/5/2011

I had pho with everything added, delicious, especially on a rainy day. I also had the thin omelette with vegetables in inside, which was also very good; I especially enjoyed how crunchy the omelette was, add ngoc mam to this. more

Great Stuff 1/20/2010

Been waiting to try Vietnamese food. I'm glad that this was the first place I tried. Started withe the ""Pho"" and just kept going from there. Took home alot. Waiter was great. Told him it was our first time, he suggested the Pho and then thought we went crazy ordering more food. You could tell the freshness and flavor of the dishes. The pork loaf was not to my liking but that was about it. Try the condiments and sauces before putting them on everything. I had one sauce that reminded me of old socks in gym locker. Nothing is perfect but this was close. Wife doesn;t want to eat Chinese ever again. Good price. Pros: Flavorful food Cons: Waited for bill more

Great Vietnamese food at a great price 5/1/2009

We found Lac Viet through Google and after reading tons of good reviews, we thought we'd give it a try. Their summer rolls are delectable and grilled pork vermicelli noodle bowl is to die for. They use the freshest ingredients and u can really taste the quality in their dishes. We drive from Minneola once or twice a week just to get a fix. more

Delicious Vietnamese Food=Lac Viet Bistro 1/13/2007

Lac Viet is absolutely a beautiful surrounding to stay in and so tasty to eat at. I have eaten at Lac Viet for so many times and it's because of the delicious food it serves. Lac Viet beats the other Vietnamese restaurants in a heart beat. The food is unique with different spices and flavors that make your taste buds crave for. \r \r \r WARNING: VERY ADDICTIVE, ONE VISIT IS NEVER ENOUGH!!!!!!! Pros: peaceful atmosphere, delicious food, commendable & quick service Cons: streets pretty busy more

Excellent Food and Exceptional Wait Staff 1/7/2007

For years we have driven over from Titusville to find interesting restraunts, typically on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Vietnamese has been our favorite for many years and we are convinced we could eat this cusine serveral times a week. We recently read a pretty good review about Lac Viet and couldn't wait to try it. We typically plan a fun day to Orlando, like a visit to Orlando Science Center or a Shakespeare Festival show and then enjoy lunch or dinner somewhere around town. I first noticed the ambience at Lac Viet Bistro, which is nicer than the other like type restraunts in the area. It would definitely be a good place for entertaining friends or family but is just as good for a wonderful Sunday afternoon lunch. The menu is extensive and it is really hard to decide what to try but it is much eaiser than Anh Hong. The people working there are extremly friendly and helpful, and the wait staff is exceptional. We know a little about vietnamese cuisine but still found that our waiter provided us with insights that we would not have otherwise ventured into and we wound up sampling things we would probably not have tried. There is a stronger Northern Vietnam influence here, so there is a little difference in flavor and probably a greater difference in dishes than in the other local restraunts. Our waiter was extremely friendly and fun to talk to. I requested a menu to take home so I could study it and zero on what I will try next time. This restraunt was a little more expensive than some of the others we have been to, but I believe it is worth it. I did hear two tables ordering ""lemonade"", even witnessed a couple that came in to order take out and only wanted two lemonades, so not sure what that is all about, but will find out next time. Give it a try, it is obvious that the owners here greatly value customer service - good food, good service, good experience! Pros: Ambience, Exceptional Service, Excellent Food Cons: On busy Rt. 50 more

Good Vietnamese food 9/28/2006

Lac Viet provides the best of everything Vietnamese...beginning with their authentic decor, food selections, and friendly service. I always feel welcome and the owners make each visit special by taking time out to check on us personally and to make sure our meal is wonderful as usual. What made me remember this restaurant, was that a Vietnamese family had come in and had several children with them. One of the little boys wanted french fries (which of course aren't on the menu), so one of Lac Viet's waiters actually went next door to a fast food joint to fetch the boy his fries. Service like this is definitely one of a kind and extraordinary. more

Best Vietnamese Restaurant in Orlando - Florida 9/23/2006

This Orlando hotspot has been doing brisk business since its inception in 1995. Dig into Vietnamese delicacies, including the omnipresent noodles the food here is more specific to the city of Hanoi and is a melange of tradition and art. Start off with the multi-faceted Pho (5.50) , a national soup dish, with garden rolls (2.50) , amid warm, beautiful surroundings or on the patio. Follow it up with Banh Cuon rice crepes with meat fillings (5.95) , veggies and fish sauce. Or, try the delicious Bun Cha Ha Noi vermicelli noodles (7.95) with grilled pork in fish sauce and other embellishments. Wind up with the Ca Phe Sua Da (2.50) iced tea with condensed milk, or an exotic fruit shake (3.50) for a truly Viet experience. This is also an ideal spot for a quiet celebration; the bar takes care of basic liquor requirements.\r more

Try Lac Viet 9/21/2006

The service is wonderful, with a talk from the owner everytime, the food is great, nothing like the rest of the Colonial string. The waiters/waitresses give you a feeling of being right at home.\r The Hanoi style ($ 7.95) is a must. Scott Joseph agreed with me, too.\r Summer Roll ($ 2.50) is the freshest roll compare to any Viet restaurant.\r Mango Salad ($ 9.95) was wonderfull. They have a very big menu with over 100 items. I have not tried them all yet but I have to admit this is the best vietnamese restaurant in town. Pros: large parking lot for the restaurant, Cheap lunch and dinner. Good Services more

The Best Vietnamese Restaurant voted by major newspapers and magazine food critics 9/21/2006

Both the food & the service were excellent. It was the first time to try this cuisine for the 3 people with me. After asking a few questions back & forth, the staff quiclky [and accurately] paired us all with dishes that we all liked. Our separate tastes in foods were all accomocated handsomely. The wait staff was great. The decor was warm and tasteful. Being from the environs of New York City, the prices seemed very fair for the excellent quality of the foods served. If we go back to this part of Florida, we'll make it point to go back and dine there again. more
