Great potential but much improvement is needed to achieve that potential 5/23/2007

I've known this place to exist for about 20 years and finally decided to give it a try. more

We drive 45 miles to have dinner here. 2/6/2007

We've been to La Forchetta three times and every time the Veal Francese is fanastic. I've never had better and I've tried it in a lot of Italian restaurants. The atmosphere is homey; they treat you like family. The garlic bread is wonderful, as is the regular bread served with meals. The dinner salad could use a little imagination, but the entres make up for any shortcomings anywhere else. On my next visit, I hope to save enough room for the homemade Tiramisu, which I've heard is to die for. Pros: great food, friendly service Cons: parking, dinner salad more

Very good food and service 8/2/2005

This place is really good if you are looking for authentic Italian food. I have been three times now since finding it by accident. The food is always wonderful. Try the Eggplant, calimari, schrimp scampi, and you must have the Garlic bread with cheese. It is down right sinful. They also have very nice wines, many of which you can only get in their restaurant. The place is small but very nice for an intimate date. The service was also very nice. They are very friendly. I think everyone has been there for years. My last visit the waitress mentioned being there for 15 years now. I definitely am hooked and will be trying the pizza this weekend which I heard is wonderful. They do have carry out if you want to grab and go for home. Pros: food, service, quality meal Cons: small, wait if during dinner, not open on Sundays more

Small noisy but fun mom and pop place, very authentic, the meatballs and spaghetti, and the veal parmagiana are to die for. The clams oreganata appetizer is huge delicious and worth the wait. This place is the real NY Italian deal. I think that they need to offer free refills on sodas, however. There is a wait during peak times because it is small, but the food is top-notch Italian. The pasta is very fresh as are all the ingredients.Go!! Pros: cozy, authentic, delicious food, Mama is a riot Cons: crowded , noisy, no soda refills more

authentic 11/27/2002

this is probably the most authentic Italian restaurant in all of central florida. It's not a chain, it's a small family owned and operated restaurant that has home made pastas, breads, and real Italian food. The gnocchi pasta is wonderful, the veal is real veal, and the seafood is to die for. Try the lobster ravioli, or the orange salmon. There is no place else I would go for Italian food, that's for sure. And, FYI, the pizza is awesome too! Pros: authentic Italians, hometown ambviance, great value/portion more
