My sister had always passed this place on her way to work and convinced the family to go there. It was 7 of us and we were very impressed with the ambience it gave. The calamari and bread rolls were delicious, we also ordered the gnocchi but in a white sauce. Little did we know that costs extra and that came to our surprise when we got the bill. All of our meals came with a small salad which we never received and noticed at the end of the meal. We informed the waiter thinking he'd be kind enough to take it off the bill but he didn't. All in all, the food is delicious but the service was horrible...no tip for them that night more

Having only visited Antonio's, a small whole-in-the-wall with the best service and Italian food EVER, I was hesitant to try out La Famiglia as Antonio's "sister restaurant". Boy was my hesitation laid to rest quick! I love this place! Same great pizza, pasta, sandwiches and service as Antonio's with just a little "upscale" but perfect take. If you haven't been, GO!!!! You won't be dissapointed! more

Clean, with real Italian music playing in the background! The anti-pasta salad could use more meat and cheese, not many dressing choices either. Loved the slice of pizza--crispy, but chewy crust, just the right amount of sauce and cheese.\r \r Will definately return. more

I have found my favorite pizza again. Perfectly balanced sauce, perfect crust with a crisp bottom and a subtle chewiness that is the way it should be. LOVE IT!!! more

Not bad at all. Not too many good Italian restaurants in Florida but this was a pleasant surprise. Our waitress with the thick NY accent was nice and attentive. The soup was delicious and the garlic rolls were soft and fresh. I played it safe and had the chicken parm and I was very happy. I will return more

La Famiglia is a combination of the best Italian dinners in South Florida, professional, attentive service, the best NYC pizza anywhere, the finest owners and management there is, and the nicest people. Being from NY and having also been a restaurant owner, I tend to unintentionally hold eating establishments to a very high standard. La Famiglia is exemplary in their extreme attention to detail in all areas of running their wonderful restaurant. I feel that if someone writes a review here, or anywhere, we should all be held accountable for our words and for our intentions. It IS fair for the critic to be critiqued. This will be as factual as it will be fun. Here we go . . . \r \r The multiple difficulties that "Edward Soledad" had in attempting to review La Famiglia shows with his obvious lack of knowledge of restaurants. If he wants to review anything in writing, he should first understand what he's saying - and then he should learn how to write. His noun and verb problem, coupled with spelling and grammar deposits fully expose him in those seven, short, childish sentences. Those "sentences" are, of course, completely untrue. Soledad's illiteracy is surpassed only by his inaccuracy. He was obviously writing in the language of opposites, as that certainly was not adult English - and it is only the true if inverted. This is evidenced by the strong offense taken by everyone else who has read his idiocy when they write their own reviews. \r \r Soledad opened his silly, laughable rant with "Where do I start" The rest of us would recommend Night School first. Then he should stick with what he knows - (he WILLINGLY lists his favorite restaurants as "fast food " in his own Urban Spoon profile - then tries to review La Famiglia). La Famiglia is NOT fast food, it is a billion miles away from that - although it comes to the table amazingly fast for quality Italian gourmet recipes. It will, however lack the quick, easy, sodium and chemical nightmare that Soledad is used to in his preferred, usual fare of fast-food and Kool-Aid. I can understand and even respect, that if one is used to dining on heavily salted trash, good, home cooked, high-end food will taste unusual to that person, and maybe even bland. Maybe Soledad was upset that La Famiglia didn't serve the drinks in a Big Gulp cup or that there's no Happy Meals with secret prizes at La Famiglia. I'll try to run into Mr. Soledad at the Golden Arches, as he's seasoning with ketchup packets, and inform him that the food at La Famiglia is not prepared by a "cook;" but rather a world traveled, highly skilled, classically trained, award winning CHEF. It's a short word, he should remember it.\r \r Here are the facts: The EXACT menu items mentioned by Soledad (Veal Parmesan, Bolognese Sauce and La Famiglia's famous Garlic rolls) are actually seasoned to total perfection by the Chef (but it is true that they don't taste like the fast food that Soledad loves more than anything) It should also be mentioned that a blend of high grade grated cheeses, crushed Italian red pepper, zesty oregano, Italian granulated garlic, salt, and black pepper are always on every table. Additional sauces are available for anyone who asks. All that is apparent to educated customers or even to anyone else with a brain. Soledad has much to learn in the adult world, including not to take out your petit resentments and jealousies on successful businesses with established followings. Somebody should explain to Soledad the "don't hit send" rule that adults know. Writing something that foolish, style and/or delivery, exposes only the writer. Those statements only trash Soledad, not La Famiglia. La Famiglia's customer base hopes Soledad will take his own advice and "Stay Away."\r \r What the food at La Famiglia DOES reflect - is a legacy of prideful Italian heritage coupled with experience of American business ownership. The owners have been in business for over thirty years at their first location, Antonio's - around the corner and down the street on Miramar Parkway. They opened the second for those who waited on line too long to eat at the ever-popular Antonio's. As one of those three decade customers, I appreciate that La Famiglia is here now. I, along with my many neighbors, colleagues, family members, and friends, love La Famiglia more than I can express. The family (The name translated into English) that owns and operates La Famiglia are all about providing the highest in integrity, quality, and completely meeting their customer's desires in amazing food, world-class service, homey ambiance, an incredibly affordable pricing structure, and warm, great people. Their way of doing things is appreciated by their fiercely passionate following, including me.\r \r I STRONGLY recommend La Famiglia to anyone wanting a wonderful Italian meal, a pleasurable dining experience and the best Pizza ever. I further recommend AGAINST ever badmouthing anything that this many people feel this strongly about. more

regarding mr soledad's review...................this cretan obviously does not have an aculturated palate, that would allow him to discern quality italian food if it bit him on his posterior!\r my wife and i travel all throughout the world and spend at least one month travelling thru italy every year. we are both italian americans. our palates have tasted the finest that italy and the rest of the "italian" presentations the world has to offer. we can tell you, the prospective gustatory customer that you will have found one of the few great italian restaurants in the entire u.s., right there in miramar, fl. luigi and his beautiful wife, maria are both attentative and competent. anything made by luigi will fill your senses as if you were transported directly to southern italy. this young man is a culinary artist! the prices in this restaurant will shock you with their value! try their chicken or veal francese.....non finer or more delicious! try anything with his marinara sauce you will be amazed! their sicilian pizza is made perfectly! not greasy, easily reheated at home and made with all the best ingredients! ask for his home made mozzarella with tomato and basil (caprese!) this cheese is made in the kitchen with 160 degree water! no one makes this cheese in a restaurant that doesn't require a mortgage payment for each entree!! his bruschetta is to die for! i've owned an italian restaurant in south florida and understand what his finished products demand. he is a perfectionist!!\r do yourself a "flavor" and give this restaurant a try. you will thank me personally for this unsolicitted review. more

Where do I begin? The garlic rolls are bland. The Veal Parm was bland as well. The bolognese sauce is the root of all their woes. The cook needs to spend less time serving and being a busboy and more time seasoning in the kitchen. Definitely not recommended. Stay away!!! more
