WORST NYC MEAL IN 10 YEARS 1/12/2008

THE OWNER WAS SMOKING A CIGAR IN FRONT OF THE DOOR AS WE ENTERED: HE ASSURED US THAT WE WOULD LOVE OUR MEAL. 40 MINUTES LATER WE HAD BREAD AND WATER ON THE TABLE. THE WAITER HAD NO CLUE ""NEW ON THE JOB FOR TWO WEEKS"". THE OWNER COULD CARE LESS. HE SAT AT THE BAR WATCHING A FOOTBALL GAME WITH A FRIEND. THE WAITER TRIED VERY HARD, BUT TO NO AVAIL. ONE WAITER AND ONE BUSBOY FOR THE 10-12 TABLES. THE PLACE HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED FOR ATLEAST TWO YEARS. WINE GLASSES WERE CRUSTY, WALLS DIRTY, BATHROOM LOOKED LIKE THE PORT AUTHORITY. WHEN THE FOOD FINALLY ARRIVED, IT WAS NOT WORTH THE WAIT. NOT A FRESH INGREDIENT TO BE FOUND. IF THE OWNER CARED, HE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN OFF HIS STOOL. THIS PLACE MUST BE A FRONT FOR ANOTHER BUSINESS. ASHAMED TO BRING FRIENDS TO SUCH A PLACE. MUST BE A NEW OWNER; COULD NOT POSSIBLY LAST 21 YEARS WITH THIS MANAGEMENT. Cons: ALL more

No, no. no 9/16/2007

Came here for the first time on a Saturday night with friends. The place was cute, but off the bat our server had absolutely no idea what he was doing. Every time we asked for something he would forget, then when we would ask again he seemed like it was the first time he was hearing it. They had calamari but wouldn't fry it for us and the mozzarella app came with three tiny pieces. My pasta/broccoli rabe/sausage dish was AWFUL - there was a puddle of water at the bottom of the dish, there was no taste and the sausage was grainy and flavorless. When we asked for more bread they said they ran out! An Italian restaurant running out of bread? My friends enjoyed their chicken entrees but overall the experience was a disaster. Go elsewhere! Pros: Decent prices, cute dining room Cons: BAD food, AWFUL service more

Average 8/2/2005

Our orders took a while to be served. They mostly have seafood, great pumpkin ravioli. Small and cozy restaurant, not great for large parties. Pros: Moderate priced Cons: Mostly seafood more

Disappointing 8/16/2003

I used to love the LDV on 13th Street, and recently tried out the LDV on Spring. Yecch. Same diverse menu, same interesting-looking specials, but my pasta was soggy and it was festooned with dry, tasteless shellfish. Service was awful. Too bad. Pros: inexpensive, good location, not crowded Cons: poor service, bad food, attitude more

Everything looked good 1/21/2003

I went here with a friend and spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out what to get. Every dish I saw brought out looked great. I had the some special pasta dish just covered with shellfish. It honestly ruled! Can't wait to go back. One complaint: service was a bit slow. It may have been because of the Hooter's shirt I was wearing however. more

Best Food in Soho! 7/29/2002

I have been going to this restaurant 7 years and never have a complain. The service is always good and the food is consistantly incredible. Very comfortable and homely. Pros: inexpensive, good food Cons: very small more
