Staying at the Palmer House and decided to order in, we choose several dishes so as to share. The garlic bread had no garlic, totally tasteless. THe chicken & Penne Pasta was so bland, the chicken parm, bland, lasagna was flavorful but so overloaded with meat sauce that it was overwhelming. They included a loaf of french bread that had absolutely no taste at all. All in all we were very disappointed, had heard so many good things about this place. My reccomendation would be to look elsewhere for a great italian dinner. more

Italian Village deserves to be called as CitySearch's best. This is my favorite Italian restaurant in the hood. Their food reminds me of my visit to Italy when I was younger. Amazing wine, amazing pastas, amazing, just a superb, amazing experience. more

What a nice quaint steakhouse for Italians or those who like Italian flair and food. They have given the restaurant a nice face lift since I was here last. New booths - lights - paint and carpet looks very very nice.\r \r The food as I remember was very good. I had the filet with a shrimp cocktail. The dessert I chose was the canoli, my friend had the tiramisu..! The waitstaff is very nice and the food is served in a timely manner and hot !\r \r The wine list is amazing. I always have the house red..seems to hit the spot everytime!\r \r I also appreciate the menu pricing. I can eat 2 meals for the price of most places here at LaCantina. more

First of all, let me start off by saying I'm 17 and went to this restaurant with a few friends of mine instead of going to homecoming. Reservations were made at least a week in advance. My friend who made the reservation called the restaurant 3 times to confirm and every time La Cantina said they had our reservation. When we arrived at La Cantina they said we never made a reservation and said we would have to wait 30 minutes for a table. Needless to say I was very pissed off and didn't want to give them the business of 10 customers, but for some reason my friends insisted we wait and still eat there. When they finally seated us 30 minutes later, we were put in a back room and cramped into a table with barely any elbow room. The atmosphere was very very loud and not enjoyable. I ordered salmon and it was not up to par at all; the salmon was mushy and quite tasteless. I will never be visiting this place again. Personally, I think they claimed to not have our reservations because we were a bunch of teenagers and they wanted to seat other customers and didn't think we would made a scene because they claimed to not have our reservation, but I'll never know. more

I love this restaurant. The first time I ate here, I thought it was the cutest place I had ever seen. The ambiance of a little Italian Village is so unique, it gives a lot of character to the place. The food is consistently good and the service is spot on!!!! If you have not been here, you must check it out. You will not be sorry...... more
