I am a big fan of teriyaki, so I thought I would check out Kyoto. I am not sure if I got an undercooked batch, but I was sick for days! I ordered the chicken teriyaki with noodles...

Great Teriyaki 1/20/2010

I've eaten here a dozen times and have NEVER gotten sick. Great teriyaki in the suburbs!!!! I'm so sick of Tokyo Joe's. TJ's absolutely sucks compared to this place. This place is perfect for a quick and cheap meal. I don't eat beef but the chicken, soba noodles, and veggies are very good and their teriyaki sauce is awesome. The chicken is dark meet yet has almost zero chewy or grissley peices, it is always super tender. And the steamed rice is cooked perfect. It is a perfect compliment to the chicken and teriyaki sauce, it's perfect for sopping up the sauce. My only complaint about the rice is they don't give you enough and I always order a cheap side dish of rice. The place is small and you can see right into the spotless kitchen and grill and wok stations. At every table there are full bottles of their teriyaki sauce, chile sauce, and soy. They always have your order ready within five minutes and your drink is self serve and all you can drink. You order at the kithcen counter and then your on your own so no need to tip. They also have iced tea on the fountain machine which is nice if you don't do soft drinks. In addition to very good teriyaki bowls and plates, they have Yakisoba, Morisoba, tempura, stir fried veggies, fried rice, gyoza, miso and wonton soups. My only worry about this place is that it will close due to its somewhat hidden location. It's right on a high traffic road but the entrance is around the back and is very hard to spot. more

Just Plain Bad! 2/21/2006

I am a big fan of teriyaki, so I thought I would check out Kyoto. I am not sure if I got an undercooked batch, but I was sick for days! I ordered the chicken teriyaki with noodles, which seemed to be their most popular dish. I got it to go and it was ready in less than five minutes. The noodles weren't bad, they just didn't really have that teriyaki taste I was used to. The chicken was chewy, which should have been my first clue. Needless to say, I didn't eat much more after that. Good thing I didn't. I probably would have been sick much longer... more
