We had a door purchased back in 2007. Shortly after the door was installed the door panels begin to split. We have been in contact with Kolbe & Kolbe since April 2008 to resolve the problem. After a few email exchanges it was agreed that the Service Manager for our area would come out and inspect the door. The Service Manager did come out to our house at the beginning of June; examined the door and took pictures of the door. He agreed at the time there was a problem with the door and there should be no issues with getting a replacement.
Since then I have been exchanging emails and letters trying to get a replacement door to my satisfaction. I am now being asked to pay and additional fee for the replacement door. Because the door needs replacing I am losing the money I put into the original door for door staining and door installation. Kolbe & Kolbe is not volunteering to reimburse me for these costs and is expecting me to handle any door replacement installation.
I am also very frustrated by their lack of timely response. They will tell me they will get back with me but never do until I have to follow-up with them. This has happened repeatedly. I feel as if they have no interest in supporting their product but would much rather delay long enough so I will give up and live with the defective door that I have.
I believe Kolbe & Kolbe should standby their warranty and provide me with a replacement door and install the door at their cost. At this time they are not willing to do this.
