AMAZING KOBE!! 3/8/2009

My boyfriend and I eat here almost once a week and it's the best place we've been to in Corpus. When we walk in our hostess is always very nice and were seated immediately. Were seated usually alone or sometimes with other couples or kids, which isn't a big deal because it doesn't hurt to be social sometimes. Our waitress most of the time is very nice and doesn't take very long for our sides to be brought to us. The sushi is probably the only sushi that i've eaten here in Corpus that taste the freshest and my boyfriend won't eat sushi unless it is from here. The Kobe steak is the best steak we've ever eaten and in our opinions all the other courses are pretty good as well, nothing we've eaten there has been bad. You pay a bit more for the fried rice like 3 dollars more but it's worth it. Now people complain about the price but it's a restaurant that cooks the food in front of you and not only are you getting what you ordered right then and there but it is good entertainment for everyone. Also a lot of people complain about the portions, my boyfriend and I share a course and get our own separate sides and were really full by the time we leave there, but they do charge a share charge which is 6.99 but it saves a bit more money. Overall, this is a really friendly, entertaining, nice place to eat for really good food. Pros: Awesome Food, great friendly cooks, good service, nice atmosphere. Cons: Crying children and random annoying strangers more

good food but..... 7/18/2007

This place has changed for the worse over the years. New owners don't seem to really care about the quality of service they are providing their diners. Very expensive tiny portions will leave you disappointed, broke and hungry. Expect to spend about $30 per person, (before cocktails), minimum. After the meal, you will need to stop somewhere on the way home to pick up something else to eat to fill the void in your stomach. Though the food is quite tasty, the wait to be served can be a long one. You will be seated amongst strangers and noisy children most of the time. If you like fried rice with your entree, prepare to be charged extra for it. The iced tea is horrible also. Try not to use the restrooms at all or you may lose your appetite altogether. Both restrooms stink and are absolutely filthy. By the time my wife and I finished our meal, we were still pretty hungry, totally disgusted with the grimy restrooms and tired of being annoyed by a waitress attempting to sell us extras that should have been included in the meal to begin with. When Tony Wo owned this restaurant, it was a better place. We will not return. Pros: good food Cons: way overpriced, pushy watresses, small portions, filthy restrooms more
