Knotty Pine Grill

We have a wonderfully remodeled restaurant and bar near us called The Knotty Pine. It's been around for decades, through many owners but this reincarnation is by far the best. It's very classy. There is one large bar with plasma TVs surrounding it and one small overflow bar with another plasma TV. I know there's at least one more TV in the dining area. I think you can sit anywhere throughout the restaurant and have a view of a TV even outside on the patio. They show a few different games at once which came in handy for my husband who couldn't find any place else showing the Browns. The food is very tasty. I recommend the sidecar salads with very generous at a great price. more

If you knew the old Knotty Pine and loved it you will be in for a rude awakening with the new version. They closed down for close to a year with some much needed renovations but unfortunately the people who did the work are the same people who own the Grandview Café down the street. The charm of the old knotty was that it felt like a good neighborhood bar where you could go after a long day of work. The new knotty is way too fancy, I stopped going a few months back but since they opened they don’t have a standard domestic beer on tap (bud, miller, coors, etc…). I haven’t been there for food yet but I haven’t heard anything good from those who have had it. They even took out the old pool table. Its just a weird clone of the Grandview Café. On top of the problems already mentioned they can’t seem to keep normal bar hours. Some Friday and Saturday nights they are kicking you out before midnight. Its really a shame what they did to the place. Hopefully it will change back soon. more
