  • In addition to owning and operating Flex, Tom Renner is personal trainer and sports performance specialist. He earned his Bachelors in physical education at Springfield College before continuing on to Syracuse University where he achieved a Masters in physical education. Tom has over 30 years hands-on experience in sports performance training, including work with top Division I and III athletes. He's been a coach for track and football at both college and high-school level. He continues to teach fitness and power lifting at both Monroe Community College and Finger Lakes Community College. Through his career, Tom has worked with a number of developing athletes: Nazareth basketball's Jamie Malloy, USC Volleyball's John Hackett, University of Vermont's Kellie Poles, and Boston College's Ryan Poles to name a few. Over the years, Tom has worked with individuals 12 to 86 years of age. With his academic background, decades of practical experience, and specialized equipment you won't find at any other facility in Rochester, Tom can work with you to create a personalized plan focusing on your goals whether they strength, speed, weight loss, cardiovascular health, or offsetting aging.
