Knapp's restaurant has been there on Proctor for many, many years, and has a very old-fashioned look and feel to it. Some people might find that disturbing or annoying, but to me it was refreshing. Knapp's doesn't look like any other restaurant, it looks like itself. A little dark, perhaps, but only in an old-fashioned sort of way.
The service is slow, but I would say more leisurely than anything else. The decor dates back several decades, but it doesn't look anything like Denny's.
The people who run Knapp's are friendly, and anxious to be accommodating.
The food is "good ol' plain American," so if you're into heavy spices and such you will be disappointed. I happen to like American, so I don't have a problem with Knapp's.
