We used to go to Kitchenetta before we ultimately had enough. The food is good, but not amazing, but there is no way I will ever eat in the restaurant again. I had one decent waiter out of dozens of visits... It truly is the rudest staff I've ever experienced - they have actually chased patrons down to their cars to question their tips, I've seen it many times and even had it happen to us once. The wine is always warm, the food is always late. It is consistently bad service. The specials rarely change so when there is something we are particularly craving from Kitchenetta which is rare now, we do take out. It's so loud and uncomfortable inside. The experience of rude service, loud sterile environment and huge plates is very passé anyway. For that kind of night, I'll go to Martarano's where at least I will be entertained. So many other amazing Italian restaurants in town to go to instead. more

Ate here two weeks ago... Really had a terrible dining experience. I'm surprised to see that so many people agree that the food is great but the service is terrible. My wife and I met a friend at the restaurant with her baby. My wife was driving separately from work and was 10 minutes late. Because the baby had to be home in an hour and a half, we wanted to go ahead and order the food. I spoke to my wife on the phone and read the menu to her. She told me what she wanted so we could order but the restaurant would not take our order until all parties were seated at the table. 10 minutes later when my wife arrived we placed the order. A few minutes after I decided I wanted add a side dish to the order, but was told we couldn't add anything further to the order?? WTF? From that point on it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to get the food! It was crazy! We asked for it to go so we could get the baby home and it took another 20 minutes to get the check. My other issues with the restaurant were that there is no substitutions allowed at all. We weren't allowed to ask that the one salad have no tomato? The manager/(owner?) has a terrible attitude, the service is slow, the tables are ridiculously close together, there are no soft furnishings in the restaurant so it's very loud and every single one of the waiters run around panicked, seemingly without reason, with a miserable expression on their faces. Then just to add insult to injury, when the bill does arrive, it's crazy expensive. (They don't print the prices on the menu so beware!) I will say the food was good, but honestly, it's not that good to make it worth the expense and to sit through bad service. My advice - skip it. Eat at the next little place just north on US1. more

OK here we go. My wife and my 2 kids ate their last month and thought this place is good. My friend and his fiancée came in from Brooklyn and we thought lets take them, their for dinner. The appetizer and wine took 45 minutes to show up and keep in mind we had reservations. Then 2 hours later our dinner showed up cold meatballs and pasta not el denta but hard, the owner came to the table and asked if she could heat the food up. My wife was thrown back. 2 hours to cook up hard pasta and she wanted to "heat it up?" We asked for the bill $160.00 for 2x$53.00 bottles of 19 dollar Villa Aninori's, one anti pasta for $36.00 and 2 bottles of water. If I was her I would have comp'ed it because it was a disaster service. We arrived at 8:30 and left at 11pm with a bill for wine and bread. I will NEVER return and am home at 11:30 pm cooking dinner that is cooked proper and served with integrity. The owner's attitude was "we have plenty of customers if your not happy go pound sand." I WILL NEVER RETURN AND WILL go out of my way to steer customers away because of her attitude. more

I swear to it up and down. I do not write reviews unless it is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. This place - 100% due to it's pompous jackass son of a bitch owner - fits the latter category.\r \r I would never recommend this place....and I hope I can let everyone and their mother know this place is not worth the $$ or dealing with a bitch ass owner like the one here. \r \r I pray this leads to him going out of business and moving out of Ft Lauderdale. Good riddance, A-Hole! more

Last night was the second time I went to Kitchenetta and it will be the LAST time I ever eat there. I will tell you why I will never eat here again. It is not because its too loud inside or the tables are packed to close to each other or because the food really isn't the caliber you would expect for the price they are charging. No it is because the owner is a complete Prick.\r \r This is what happened. I personally love tuna and saw that they had a tuna pizza and said "hmm that sounds interesting and tasty lets try that" Now before I order I need to clear somethings up first with the waitress, I ask her what type of tuna is on the pizza.. is it like fresh slices of tuna? . she replies no more like chunks.. so i say ok well i don't care how they are shaped as long as its fresh.\r \r So the pizza comes out I look at it and it looks like canned tuna just poured on top of this pie. So I taste it... sure enough canned tuna... and cold.. I thought they put these pizzas in ovens. Anyway I tell the waitress that this is canned tuna and not at all what I expected for this price. She goes to the owner and comes back and tells me we can get you something else but you will need to pay for both items. That is not going to happen, so I ask her to bring the owner out so I can talk to her. ...\r \r AND here it is: The owner comes out and she says whats the problem. So I tell her and she tells me this: I am taking your food away and I will NOT let you order anything else. Here I am willing to order something else to replace the bad food I was served. Instead the owner rudely took my food and told me she would not bring anything else out for me, pissing off a customer and risking a bad review which I am here writing my first EVER review of a restaurant.\r \r Side Note: What is funny is at the beginning with our appetizers, there was a hard piece of plastic-like piece in one of the bites of calamari.. apparently part of the calamari that needs to get removed before serving. We weren't even going to mention anything about it until the pizza incident happened. So we mention it and our waitress goes oh yeah that is not supposed to be in there and then does nothing about it.\r \r Overall you can find a couple dozen better italian places within a 5 mile radius of Kitchenetta. Some of those include Cafe Vico, Nick's, Angelo's, Bravo, Bistro Mezzaluna heck- even Il Mulino's is better. If you like loud compact, contemporary, overpriced places then perhaps you will enjoy Kitchenetta. more

lets see...is it jan? is it feb? is it a holiday? ok i am not a celeb/for well over a year i never made a reservation @ kitchenetta/ate there @ least once a week until my girlfriend and i moved north. STILL on occasion we treked 20 miles for a kitchenetta dinner. yeah its always been a "personality" place. as a customer you put up with their 4 day holidays every 2 months (my grandparents in the bar/restaurant business took their FIRST vacation after 10 years) until tonight when the valet (what happened to the pleasant brazilian guy?) turned us away and asked us to back out onto US1? ok, i guess i am not thick skinned like the new yorkers and philly people who live in so florida. who turns paying customers away from a restaurant? what happened to: "have a drink @ the bar"? LOW CLASS! take care maria and eric it was nice knowing you more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. I went for dinner for my birthday last night and it was packed. I did not have a reservation but wanted to sit outside. The hostess and the guy behind the bar (might have been the owner?) were so accomidating. After having fabulous wine while we waited for a table for 4, we were brought to the table. The specials are always wonderul, the staff is always on top of everything and pleaant. The risotto balls (appetizer) are so incredible, you've gotta try them! I would eat here everyday if i could!! :) more
