If you haven't had the Kipling experience, you and your pet have to change vets today to Kipling! First off the facility is cleaner than any human hospital I've ever seen. The staff keeps the kennel area extremely sanitary and smelling nice. I'll feel confident boarding my little ones here. The first thing they do after a wonderful greeting and making you feel at home, is give your pet a wellness check. No diving in to the unknown here. A wellness check can find things that may be wrong you didn't know about. That's also so they know who and what they are dealing with. ( Most impressive!) The professionalism doesn't stop there in fact its just beginning. After the wellness check they go over your pets condition with you to come up with a health plan and address any immediate needs. You will find that the staff is not only concerned for your pet but the human factor as well. The over all experience was was rewarding and fulling as well as educational. I learned allot about good pet care. A very well done. \r P.S. Love the colors!!!! more

We recently moved to Lakewood and searched reviews for local vet clinics to take our dogs to. This place had excellent reviews, so we booked an appointment to get rabies and dystemper boosters, a heartworm test, new heartworm medication, and Jefferson County tags for our two dogs. We waited almost 20 minutes after arrival for the receptionist to get off the phone before being acknowledged, even though we were the first customers of the day. Then, after we met with the vet, she did a subpar examination of the dogs (which we did not request), and missed noticeable lumps on one our Staffordshire Terrier's side. She also did not check out my German Shepherd's mammory glands (which were swollen as we pointed out) but insisted that it was normal without even looking at the area. When it was all said and done, we were charged $515 for this routine visit!! Rather than giving us the 5 in 1 booster that we had asked for, the vet administered two different shots to each dog and charged $40 per shot. We were shocked to pay that much for vaccinations. Further, now my dog has an abcess developing from where the rabies vaccine was administered since this vaccination was different from what we requested. This place has a nice location, but expect to pay double what you would elsewhere!! more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! 12/3/2011

I highly recommend Kipling Veterinary Hospital to anyone who considers their pets to be part of their family. The doctors and staff here are incredibly competent and compassionate. Dr. MacKenzie has a knack for diagnosing and treating difficult cases, and her love of animals is very apparent. Dr. O'Connell is also absolutely wonderful, and her medical knowledge and compassion is very obvious. The two of them have literally saved my pets' lives several times over the years. If you are looking for a high-quality, compassionate, reliable, and reasonable veterinary clinic to take care of your furry four-legged members of your family, THIS IS IT! more

BEWARE OF THIS CLINIC 8/18/2011

My experience with this clinic was TERRIBLE. Please think twice before making an appointment. I took my cat in to refill her Thyroid medication and they suggested they should clean her ears because she looked to have an ear infection. I gave them the go ahead and off my cat went into another room. After they were done, I took my cat home (after paying $203 for the ear cleaning). I woke up the next morning to a cat who could not walk or stand. Knowing this is not normal, I called the vet. Had NO return phone call after a few attempts. So I took her in. They checked her over then admitted, it was due to an error on their part when they cleaned out her ears. I needed to now give her medication to help correct their mistake they made when cleaning her ears. They told me that it could last for two to three weeks. OK Great now what.... they charged me and additional $79 for the office visit, with NO exception, just to tell me they screwed up. No apology, hugh lack of customer service, and NO compassion for my cat. My cat can now suffer for the next few weeks thanks to the Kipling Veterinary Hospital. Please Please Please reconsider when booking an appointment here. more

Mr. 6/13/2004

I visited the Kipling Veterinary Hospital during a very stressful time. My best friend Buzz had been hit by a car. Dr. MacKenzie took my Buzz into her care and saved his life. I can't tell you how grateful I am for her professional and kind care. Today, my kitty is with me and I know that this would not have happened without the care he received at the Kipling Veterinary Hospital!!! I strongly recommend that anyone with pets come for care here. Pros: Amazing care, Life Saving, Great People more

Best Veterinarian In Town 5/28/2004

Dr. MacKenzie is a caring and thorough veterinarian. Her quality of medicine is the best I have ever been exposed to. Staff are kind, the hospital is clean, and followup on pets is amazing! The new hospital has a great southwestern theme, feels comfortable, and really makes you feel welcome. Pros: Quality Pet Care, Clean Hospital, Conveneient Location more
