Worst Shop Experience Ever 12/1/2011

I have been going to Kim's for years because they are the only shop in New Brunswick. I understand they are a business but they never helped me without charging for it. Simple things like giving me some advice, allowing me to inflate my tires, it was always a hassle. The owners and their son are all right but all the mechanics they hire are the worst in my experience. Anyway, I relocated after graduating from RU and left my bike with them so they could ship it. The owner told me that the shipping costs and packaging fee would be $230 maximum and that I could include an extra wheelset. Great. I left it with them and then as soon as I was out of the state I called and they said it would actually cost me $340. What choice did I have? None. They charged me and then I asked them repeatedly for the UPS tracking number (a simple e-mail would have sufficed) and they didn't give it to me. There was always an excuse, something they had to do, or they said someone would e-mail it to me. I had to keep calling them three or four different times later and I finally got somone to give it to me. I finally tracked it and found out that that same day my package was going to arrive. When I opened the box, I found the bike zip-tied together really poorly. Hastily. The mechanic at the receiving end with me said that it was the worst packing job he'd seen. My bike's brakes were totally hyperextended and broken. The spokes on my wheels were being pushed up against other parts of my bike and my wheels are noticeably untrue now. I was thankful that there wasn't more damage but really dissapointed and pissed off. I would never do business with them again. I may never have to, but I'm going to make sure that every cyclist I know who is still in New Brunswick knows not to repeat my mistake. Don't have them pack anything for you and don't expect more than the bare minimum. Expect hassles, excuses, delays, and annoyance. more

Best neighborhood bicycle shop 9/20/2006

Great neighborhood bicycle shop for all your needs. They were very polite and were able to repair my bike (needed new inner tube and tire) in less than 20 minutes. Other bike shops required one day for repair. Price is reasonable and they have many cycling related products as well as an assortment of bicycles. more

Helpful people 11/26/2005

Another establishment slightly off the beaten path all the way down in little mexico. This french street establishment however is a great stop if your looking to pick up a nice crusier at a good price. They have a wide range of bikes and accessories (really handy tools its hard to find in the area) and some really handy technicians as well. more

Great!!!! 9/18/2005

It is a large bike shop, not in the greatest neighborhood, but they have all the bikes you could possible want. They have a nice price range so you can get a cheap o or you can go for the good bike. They are really good at serviceing their bikes. You take it in and it is fixed within minutes. They do not charge an arm and a leg. They also will negitiate with the price. Good place to do business. more
