I use to love this place. Great food and cheap prices. It never was much on ambience but recently they've spent some money on sprucing up the decor. The last two times I've been ...

Vietnamese cuisine 12/28/2010

This place I went to a couple of days ago that served pho. This place had pho, but it was not as I suspected to be. The pho was very horrible. I also found frozen meat still in the pho. When I bit into it, it was hard as a rock. I would not recommend this place to my friends. more

Best Vietnamese food in Nashville. 5/9/2010

This is my favorite place to dine in the Charlotte Pike/White Bridge area. There are several Vietnamese restaurants around this place, but none of them compare. The food is reasonably priced and the service is decent. However, the displayed photo for this place - the one that has the green ""STORAGE"" sign is obviously not the photo for this place. Be sure to get directions - this place may be tricky to find for newcomers. I highly recommend the ginger chicken, the pho or any of the bun selections. Pros: Fantastic pho', ginger chicken, spring rolls, bubble tea Cons: Cash only more

Amazing!!! 3/14/2010

Not just great food, but you can't beat the prices. In the almost 20 years I've gone there, I have nothing but praise for the freshness and taste of the food at Kien Giang. We drive from White House specifically to go there. All our friends, including several picky eaters, have become fans as well. My son is 14 - we've taken him there since he was a baby and he loves it. We particularly like the noodle/pork/egg roll bowl, the spring rolls with shrimp, the pancakes and the iced coffee. Pros: Consistently the best Vietnamese food in Nashville Cons: Credit cards not accepted: bring cash or your checkbook more

Fabulous, authentic Viet food. 1/21/2010

Don't even go to KG's if you're not interested in authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Kien Giang’s is the real deal – you can get jellyfish salad, numerous tripe dishes, beef tendon, really good pho, and a host of other more mundane things like lemongrass chicken (my favorite). It’s off the beaten path on Charlotte down past White Bridge Road, but well worth the drive. Closed Mondays, and cash only. Really good stuff! Pros: affordable, great food, authentic selections. Cons: Poor location. Cash only! more

what's up with the kid on the trike 12/9/2009

I use to love this place. Great food and cheap prices. It never was much on ambience but recently they've spent some money on sprucing up the decor. The last two times I've been to Kien Giang there was a young boy - obviously the son of one of the owners or staff - who was riding his tricycle around in the restaurant. It really is a huge distraction. I'm not planning on going back. Pros: great food, cheap Cons: kid on a tricycle riding around the restaurant more

Best noodles and spring rolls in town 5/22/2009

Ever since coming to this place on a regular basis, I have never been able to eat at another Vietnamese restaurant and walk away truly satisfied. Only here. Kien Giang is quite a diamond in the rough. It's not much to look at on the interior, but hey, that makes it all the more authentic in my view. They actually recently renovated, so the atmosphere is a little more contemporary. Great prices, great food, quick service. Best spring rolls for sure. more

Great food, great value, and fresh!!! Best resturant in town!!! 11/23/2008

The food here is great and is always fresh. The serving size is also great. Two people can eat an entre plus apetizers plus drinks for less than $20. I could eat here everyday as there is a great variety on the menu. The most authentic Vietnamese resturant in town. I highly recommend this place. Pros: Great tasting and always fresh food!!! Cons: No cons to this place! more

great 9/12/2008

Great, fresh Vietnamese food. 6/6/2008

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Nashville. I generally manage to have lunch there about once a week and I have never been disappointed. The waitress sees me come through the door and she doesn't even bring me a menu anymore, she just asks me what I want. I have two complaints: \r \r 1) They're closed on Mondays.\r 2) Everytime I eat there I have an incredible urge to eat there again the next day. \r Pros: Freshly made Vietnamese w/ interesting non-western flavors Cons: Closed on Mondays more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2/1/2008

BEST VIETNAMESE\r I have never experienced vietnamese food like this and, in speaking with the waitress I was very pleased (and not surprised) that all of the food is prepared fresh that day by a wonderful man whom upon meeting him had such a passion for authenticity and great fresh ingredients. A great atmosphere and again, just wonderful food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great meal for an even better price. I LOVE IT!!! Pros: Value taste parking ambience more

Decent Pho 9/2/2007

Let's start off by saying...they only take CASH. I've only had a few items on their menu, which were good. The Pho Dac Biet was good for its size with plenty of Asian basil, bean sprouts, lime and hot green peppers. The Banh Xeo was okay; too much egg and not enough shrimp and ground pork. Although the Com Tam was tasty with a lot of vegetables and pickles, I ordered the short ribs, which were mostly fat and only a little bit of meat. The Cafe Sua (drip coffee with condensed milk) is better than the one at Miss Saigon nearby.\r \r Service was good, with prompt seating. However, the utensils are not always clean; sometimes there is baked on dirt. Pros: prompt seating Cons: CASH only, dirty utensils more

Good Food 7/20/2006

Food was good, pho was a little watered down and they could've easily added twice as many noodles. They do give you lots of meat which was nice. The rice dish should've been served with broken rice but the BBQ pork was tasty. Waitress was friendly, would go back again. Pros: No blaring loud Vietnamese variety shows on the big screen Cons: Pho watered down more

disappointment 3/23/2006

Although the service was quite pleasant and prompt, the food was not particularly well-prepared or flavorful. More importantly, both of us found our meals slow to digest. The posted reviews had aroused our curiousity, but we will go elsewhere for Vietnamese cuisine next time. You get what you pay for. Pros: cheap, fast service Cons: not tasty, not easily digested more

best value for money 2/12/2005

this place, hands down, is the best value for the foood in nashviille.... if you enjoy quintessentiial asian food experience, this is it.... Love this place.. more

Go for food and value 7/11/2004

We love this resturant. We go every week because the food is amazing and it is CHEAP!! Try the pancakes ($6.00) or the Pho Tai Nam Gan ($5.00) or a Poboy ($3.00).. super yummy!! My husband love their spicy rice dishes ($6.00) and you can tell them how spicy you want it. They are the best Vietnamese is Nashville... go for the food, the value, and the service. Don't think... just go to Kien Giang!!! You will love it!! Pros: food, price, kid friendly Cons: waitress more

Real Vietnamese Food 11/21/2002

This is the best Vietnamese food in Nashville. Good price and service. Little hard to find, but worth the effort. Turn at the storage sign and go up the hill. Turn left at top of hill. Pros: best Vietnamese food, Quick service, Easy Parking Cons: difficult to find more

Keep coming back for more 10/28/2002

I never liked Vietnamese food until I came here. Since then I've been coming back over and over. Small Place and hard to find. Great food. They don't take credit cards. Pros: good food Cons: no credit cards more
