Editorial review from Citysearch 11/7/2013

\r Wow, today was my first time there since a new owner took it over and satisfied as a customer, I was NOT! The owner and two employees were all rude, short with me, and walked as if a huge object was permanently lodged in their (fill in the blank). I spent $135.00 and still couldn't get a smile. The only reason I didn't tell them how I felt was because I like SOME of the prices and plan to go back and purchase more items...but when I do I will be sure to ask ridiculously unnecessary questions about each item I buy. more

WONDERFUL Resale Shop 3/9/2012

I think this is the best resale shop in San Antonio. The store is always clean and organized. They give you a little more on your resale items than the other shops, and the customer service has always been wonderful every time I go (which is often). I've always kind of felt ""ripped off"" after selling my items to other local resale shops, but I don't fill that way when I sale to Kids Junction. Their inventory is always fresh and new...so I love shopping there. Just an AWESOME place! more

Great Customer Service & Clean 12/18/2011

Great experience. Great owner. and wonderful items for a great price. Will definately be going back over and over. more

What a great store!!! 9/28/2011

We tried selling a bunch of clothes at another re-sale shop and were given $9.00 for 7 items. We were told they didn't accept items with any wear whatsoever (that's nearly impossible), and certain styles that were non-regional (whatever that means). We then took the remaining clothes to Kids Junction and sold them for $60.00. The manager was very nice, professional and we are definitely going to do business with them again, soon. more

Loved the Store!!!! 6/13/2010

My older sister recommended this place. This was a good exp, the store was very clean and the merch was nearly new, no stains, no tears, very lightly used. Prices were very good, I found the bouncer and swing I have on my registries for less than half the price of new. I will def be going back, great selection of toys also. Pros: Nearly new merch, very clean and organized Cons: Called store for directions, given wrong directions. more

Great Store 6/12/2010

ok to all u people who knock Kids Junction have u ever stopped to think that maybe this is the one store that actually would take ur items used where as the other stores unless u wrap ur kid in bubble wrap and then use the item then u can resale to the others but at kids j they understand things are used come on were talking about kids here no childs things are perfectly cleaned u might as well go to the store buy something not use it and then take it to one of the other resales did u also ever stop and think about where u r shopping it says resale not never been used if u want something new go to the store dont complain on here and bring bad business to the store hello this economy isnt even good right now another thing for the parents that do shop kids j how about learning some respect and learn to watch ur kids this isnt a drop in daycare while u shop this is a business and the kids do not need to go under the racks or play with toys its not the kids fault its the parenting skills that most lack when they walk in there no wonder why people find things not up to par in there cause there are too many other people that walk in there and distroy the store so the employees and owner r left to clean up ur messes if u want to complain take a look in the mirror b 4 u get on here and gripe and just to let all u people know who think I dont know what im talking about I have been going there since i was 17 and am now 27 and have never had a bad experience and a mother of 3 and a nanny and have seen first hand how kids act in that store so next time think before u speak people and would u like someone to treat u the way ur treating the business i think not Pros: reasonable prices Cons: personally I dont have any more

BEWARE 11/5/2009

Well I went to toys r us and bought some Imaginarium blocks for 29.95 it was a 32 piece set well Kid's Junction was trying to sale a VERY used set of the same blocks for 32 dollars WHAT A RIP OFF Pros: Good Location Cons: Over priced more

Friendly people, great prices, unique finds 11/3/2009

I think the other reviewers might be expecting boutique treatment. I have always had good luck finding nice clothes at a very nice price. Especially for the little, little ones - lots of great stuff for babies & all practically new! Pros: helpful staff, new items daily Cons: selling your items can take a few minutes more

Bad Customer Sevice 10/10/2009

I went to this store to get rid of my summer clothes and i was told that they will only except fall clothes. Tell me, why on earth would i give u my fall clothes in the fall? Dont you think that they would take my summer clothes so that i can buy their fall clothes? Is this store working backwards? I will now only shop at WalMart and Target. I will also be donating my sons used clothes to the Goodwill. Thanks for waisting my time!!! Pros: Good Location Cons: Bad Customer Service more

OMG MOMENT 3/11/2009

I WENT TO THIS PLACE AS I SEE PEOPLE ON CRAIGSLIST SPEAKING ABOUT IT. I THOUGHT IF I WOULD GO IN AND SEE WHAT IT WAS LIKE I WOULD BRING MY KIDS CLOTHES AND TOYS AS WELL. NEED LESS TO SAY, I THOUGHT THE CLOTHES ON THE RACKS WERE VERY OUT DATED OR JUST UGLY. THEY ARE SELLING BRAVA (ACADEMY BRAND) SOCCER CLEATS FOR $9. THEY SELL FOR $8.99 REGULAR PRICE AT THE STORE. I AM NOT ONE TO WALK OUT OF A STORE EMPTY HANDED SO I MADE MYSELF BY A TOY HORSE FOR MY DAUGHTER WAY OVER PRICED AT $3.50. THE HAIR WAS TANGLED AND HAD PEN MARKS ON IT, BUT IT WAS THE CHEAPEST THING I FOUND. COME ON THEY HAD A BABY CRIB THERE PRICED AT $109, GO TO WALMART AT LEAST IT'S NEW. NOW THAT I SEE THE REVIEWS, I DO BELEIVE THAT I SHOULD JUST DONATE IT. IT'S NOT WORTH THE DRIVE. Pros: NOT SURE Cons: WHAT, IT'S CHEAPER AT THE STORE more

Try some of the other resale shops first 3/9/2009

Kind of looks like junk factory. more

crappy crappy place 3/6/2009

i went into this store just to look around, now since I wasn't looking for anything specific I didn't really care if I received any customer service from these dumb broads, but no other person in the store did either. Now I realize that they probably hate their $7.00 an hour job and they probably steal some clothing/toys for their own kids but its not their fault, the blame must be on the manager/owner if that person gave a damn about their business then customer service would be exemplary. I didn't personally go through trying to sell items but if I was treated half as bad as these other women they would definitely regret speaking to me like that. Well ladies that are plenty other resale shops in San Antonio just google it if I were you I wouldn't give these ""people"" my business let them just go bankrupt!! Cons: PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING more

Do not patronize this establishment. 12/16/2008

The staff is horribly rude to people who are trying to sell clothing. They use a black light to scan clothing for stains. When was the last time your toddler went to a RAVE!!??! They have ridiculous limitations on what they will buy and the amount that they will pay. The funny thing is that the clothes in their store do not look anywhere near perfect, and the prices are to close to clearance prices to be a good buy. The last straw for me was when they refused to buy my son's Gap jeans because they were too faded! It's like they haven't stepped foot into a real store and checked out the current fashions! HELLO - that's how they are sold brand new! Pros: There are other resale shops in town. Cons: You have to experience the rudeness before you can believe it. more

Some good prices, bad service 11/23/2008

I have been going to KJ for the past 8 years, and they do have some good prices. I recommend shopping for clothes and toys for the younger age group (8 yrs. and younger), very good stuff. But, for older than 8 is hard to find everyday clothes that are functional and cute. You'll have better luck finding dresses for that special occasion, or Sunday clothes. Over the years, they have gotten nastier, and pickier. But, I don't know whether it is that they are more willing to buy little kids clothers rather than older kids clothes (as my kids have grown). They do tend to make you feel dirty, and yes customer service at Goodwill IS tons better. As far as kids are concerned, when my kids were little they did look forward to playing in the back. But I was also careful not to allow them to run around the store or go under the racks as did alot of other children. All in all, I do go there for special ocassion dresses for my girls, and pants for boys, but I'd rather bless someone with my kids clothes than deal with those ladies and NOT get much money. BY THE WAY THERE IS A MUCH BETTER RESALE STORE WITH WONDERFUL SERVICE, KID-TO-KID in the shopping center on Huebner and Vance Jackson. Pros: clothes for special ocassions Cons: questionable service more

Questionable experience 9/8/2008

I went to this resale shop a number of years ago. My daughter is nine now.I think she was about 1 when I attempted to take some things for consignment there. I only went once. The folks there were pretty rude. I had never been to a cosignment or resale store before so I had no expectations. I am a germ freak and I have a bit of OCD in regards to clean clothes and clean children. They made me feel like I was the nastiest mom in san antonio when I tried to resale some items. I left in near tears never to return again. They were so rude and I almost had to wait over 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged my presence in the store. I was patient through the process though. Now some years later I just cleaned out both my kids closets. I have been taking tons of items to goodwill or donating to the local children's home for the past 4 years. I thought why not try to earn a few extra bucks for a change but Im afraid to spend $3.49 per gallon of gas to drive across town to be humilated again. i dont know of any other resale stores for kids clothes though. I am hoping that the few good reviews that I have seen posted in the last month or two are accurate accounts of their store experience. Maybe I will give a shot again.................. Cons: not the best customer service more

best resale in town 7/25/2008

I think the people writing bad reviews for Kids Junction must really have some personal issues. I go there often to buy and sell and so do alot of my friends. All the womens meetings I attend there is alot of talk about places to shop and this store always comes up and always very positive things to say. They have always been very fair in buying things from me. They tell me that the prices they set are usually about one-fourth to one-half of the current retail price. I do think some people have a very inflated idea of what used items should be worth. They are very selective which is good when you are buying items. As to the person who said the items were not good- must have thought she was in Macy's-- this is a resale store! You really should check it out for yourself. If you do have any concerns just ask for the owner(Charlene), she would be happy to talk to you, she has been the owner for 24 years. Pros: good selection more

very good deals 7/13/2008

If you make an appointment and bring in stuff thats in good shape to sell they will look through it and decide how much they would charge, and give you 40% of that. I mean something thats useless to you no matter how much you originally spent on it is worth exactly nothing. I took in that sort of stuff and walked out with 68 bucks. I have also bought really cool toys for less than 5 dollars. Just remember it's a retail store, not the baby gap. If you expect the staff to follow you around and kiss your butt your in the wrong place. Pros: good deals Cons: closed Sundays more

Give it a try and see for yourself! 7/12/2008

I am surprised by these reviews. I just moved to SA and I really liked the store. I went in and bought some really great priced, good quality items. The next time I went in I brought stuff for the resale. I was dissapointed at several items they wouldn't take, and they did examine everything very closely, but on the flip side it helped to assure me that when I buy something from there it will be in really good shape. I did feel a little like I must be a ""dirty"" mom, but I have four kids, so hey, I do the best I can. All in all I really did like it, the sales people were very pleasant, and I really recommend you try it for yourself. more

Kid Junction Resale - Worst place to go! 7/7/2008

Don't go to Kid Junction if you are looking for quality items. They sell really old and worn goods, not to my liking. Please don't try to sell your stuff there either because they will only give you pennies on the dollar. I took in $400 worth of items all in great condition, some almost new, if not new with tags and they offered less than $40 for the entire amount. I believe they are taking advantage of selllers they believe to be desperate for money. I took all my stuff back and even gave some of it away at the store to some of the customers. They were very grateful. I will be giving my stuff away at a street corner on the least affluent side of town, which makes me feel much better than earning a few measly bucks. And by the way, the staff is verrrrrrrrrry slow. Pros: obviously none Cons: many other store will pay cash on the stop more

awful service and rude people 6/29/2008

I have to agree that the people are horribly rude. Occasionally I find a good deal on toys, but I wouldn't sell there. I have seen them be awful to people who come in to sell things. Goodwill has better service and better clothes! Pros: good toy selection Cons: awful staff more
