Fresh Sushi 2/23/2010

Ki Sushi is perhaps the best place in Brooklyn to get great sushi for a very reasonable tab. The fish is so fresh it is almost wriggling. The service is attentive and polite, the space is open and has plenty of ambience (they actually have candles on the table, somewhat rare for a neighborhood sushi restaurant), and there is a good selection of wine, beer and sake. If you aren't into sushi, they have plenty of inventive entrée items to choose from. It's packed on the weekends so call ahead! Pros: The Food and the space more

best sushi in cobble 11/1/2009

Highest fish quality in Cobble Hill. Better than hibino and the other smith st sushi joints by a long shot. Pros: excellent fish Cons: none really more

Fresh and Fantastic 9/2/2009

My husband and I go for sushi at least once a week and typically favor a well known spot on court. recently a friend mentioned that Ki Sushi surpased our normal location by far. We figured it wouldnt hurt to try something new and have been die hard fans since. The sushi chefs are friendly and personable. The wait staff is attentive and answers any questions you may have. And most importantly the fish is FRESH and FANTASTIC. their combinations are well thought out and mouth watering. it is some of the best miso soup around -- and the TNT truffle appetizer is addictive. Well worth the slightly higher price of other neighborhood spots. Pros: Friendly and attentive wait staff Cons: usually need to wait for a table more

Our all time favorite restaurant in the neighborhood 12/12/2008

My wife and I absolutely love this place, we go at least once a week. The Ki roll is a must try, you will be hooked. The sashimi is great as well. The service is excellent, friendly and personable. We pretty much always are seated promptly even though the place is usually at or around capacity. Pros: Food, ambiance, service Cons: None that I can think of more

Very good sushi... 10/18/2008

This is one of my favorites...I've been several times. This is by far better than your run of the mill sushi restaurant. The choices are plentiful, creative and the fish is really fresh. Some experimentation, without going crazy. This isn't just the best sushi in Brooklyn, it's one of the best sushi restaurants in all of the city. I'm a big fan of several Japanese restaurants in the east village, and Ki not only holds its own, it's better than several. In my book, it rates better than most sushi places in Manhattan. I know some Manhattan-ites will look down their noses at a Brooklyn restaurant...all I have to say is, that's fine with me. Stay in Manhattan. We'll enjoy great sushi without you. Pros: Great food, fresh, lots of options. Cons: It's a little more expensive than most sushi places, but not by much. more

Good, not great. 8/1/2008

I've lived in this neighborhood for several years and I have not yet found perfect sushi, Ki comes the closest. Their fish is fresh and the rice is warm and well seasoned, but the cutting skills of the chefs are not that great, so you get big chunky pieces of fish. Great salads. If you have the time, take a trip to Taro or Blue Ribbon in Park Slope, but if you need to have sushi in Carroll Gardens, go for Ki! Pros: quality fish, good rice, great salads Cons: poor knife skills more

Super fresh - Lovely Environment - Good Service 7/9/2008

The Sushi here is great as the rest of the menu, and they are the only Sushi joint around that give you soup AND salad with the lunch special. Great spot, I would eat every meal here is I could! Pros: Super Fresh sushi - Good Service - Nice environment - smooth lighting Cons: The front does look like a real estate agent :) more

I agree! Wonderful Dining Experience! 4/24/2008

We have been going to Osaka, previously, for sushi (as a previous review also said) and the food there has gotten increasingly dissappointing. So we tried Ki, and are so glad we did! It's the best sushi in the area, by far. The ambiance is relaxing, warm, and inviting, the staff is attentive and friendly. I can never just order off the menu, and have to make all kinds of changes to the sushi rolls, and they got everything right. The miso soup is great, as is the edamame. The sushi was delicious, very flavorful, and fresh. We got a beer, soda, 6 rolls, soup, and edamame for about $45-$50! Can't wait to go back! Pros: DELICIOUS sushi; attentive, friendly staff; warm, romantic, inviting ambiance Cons: Might not be good for large groups more

Editorial review from GrubHub 2/14/2008

The food was good, but the service has been awful. I've ordered from here a couple times - but they have messed up the order each time. Unfortunately, they are not very helpful in terms of exchange or refunding the error. more

Best. Sushi. Ever. 11/11/2007

The staff at Ki sushi know my name when I walk in the door because I come here so often. The ambience is romantic, comfortable and upscale yet the menu is affordable and the service is impeccable. I highly recommend the spicy tuna roll. I get it ever time I order from ki (which is about 3 times a week). The fish is fresh, the portions are decently sized and in my opinion, just as tasty as some of the fancy sushi places in the city. Every friend that I bring here finds themself back within a week. Ki sushi is a great addition to Smith St. Pros: Everything more

Great NY sushi...and it's in Bklyn, yey!! 10/4/2007

OK - so I NEVER write reviews, but I felt compelled to about this joint...it rocks. I'm a bit of a sushi snob and I'm in love w/ this place. Yes-it is a little more $$ than your average brooklyn sushi joint, but rightfully so. The sushi is fresh and really delish... and beautiful presentation too! Anyone who enjoys sushi will love this place. Screw the Brooklyn/Manhattan standards...this place is just plain ole amaizing! Service can be a litle slow...but they're always packed. Staff is always super friendly. Pros: sushi, in brooklyn, pretty reasonable Cons: packed, sometimes have to wait a bit for food more

BEST sushi, tranquil ambiance, excellent service, GREAT LUNCH VALUE!! 2/12/2007

A co-worker (thank you, Elyse!!) once casually mentioned this place to me... ever since, I have been AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK! It has hands down THE BEST SUSHI. It is fresh, excellent flavors, soup AND salad for lunch... the wait staff is quite friendly and attentive. If you can get it, the corner (hidden) table is quite charming and romantic and hidden. The staff treat you well, either when alone or w/others. They don't usually take reservations for dinner, but you can often find room at the sushi bar.\r \r I often find an excuse to go to Brooklyn to eat here... now I just find an excuse to eat here! Thank you, Ki Sushi!! Pros: Fresh sushi, friendly unrushed service, ALWAYS a dining serenity Cons: Wish there were additional locations!! Parking may be difficult to find... but it's subway accessible more

Fabulous, Fresh Sushi!! 9/2/2006

As avid restaurant goers - Ki is IT! The best sushi we have had in a very long time. Loyal Osaka eaters, I have to admit the quality and food was plummeting - and it is always the typical menu. We tried Cube 63 a few times but, they as well, were just so so.... Ki opened up and WOW - DELICIOUS. FRESH. and the rolls melt in your mouth. My favorite is the Spicy Girl and Dynamite Rolls - simply melt in your mouth. My FI loves sashimi and the peices wow - FOR THE FRESHEST SUSHI, a wonderful atmosphere and a great experience, Ki Sushi is IT! Trust me - you will LOVE it!! \r \r Priced extremely reasonable!! Pros: Amazing Fresh Fish, Wonderful Service and just a Fabulous Experience more
