Great venue. 3/31/2007

I recently saw Elton John and had a great time. Parking was not a problem (then again I did pay extra with the tickets to get parking privileges) and it was a short pleasant walk to the event. We had dinner within a short walking distance @ Buckley's which was a nice establishment with an "Irish pub" feel (I recommend that place, too). We're going back in June '07 to see The Police (YEAH) and can't wait. This time around I didn't make a big deal of getting floor seats as I discovered that b/c it is a smaller venue, any seat has pretty good view of the stage. more

Key Arena 5/5/2006

I do not like this place. It is cramped without any room to maneuver once in your seat. I do not enjoy sitting for hours with my knees under my chin - and I am not tall. I do like the tuba player outside, though. He has been there each of the three times I was. 1 star rating. I cannot go any lower. more

Great venue 4/12/2006

The Key Arena, despite it's lame-o name, is a great venue for both sports and music entertainment. I have seen the arena as a Sonics basketball court, an ice rink and a packed mega-concert stage. The versatility of the Arena allows it to remain the number one large-seating venue in the area. Just look at the deteriorating Tacoma Dome... The revamp of the Key is a benefit to the city and now draws such great acts as the Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, the Killers etc.. Seats are surprisingly comfortable and plenty of room is given. The sound system is top-notch and makes any sports or entertainment event an interactive one. more

Basketball at its peak 12/9/2005

The atmosphere at Key Arena was not what I was expecting the first time. The fans really make the game fun, and the announcer and video system make the basketball game interactive during the breaks. It was not as rowdy here as I thought it might have been, and most people around me stuck to their seats instead of causing any kind of trouble for anyone. Halftime was fun, but it showed me that the game was half over, which was a disappointment. more

Key to fun! 12/8/2005

Great atmosphere to watch a basketball game. IT was build back in the mid 90's and Is still one of the nicest courts to play on. There are lots of seats, approximately 50 thousand I think. It is locate in seattle center and provides sufficient parking to the customers. The food is alright, but pricey. They also hold concerts there. All in all, a great place to visit and catch up on the sonics. they're great this year! more

Better than most big venues 8/21/2005

While Key Arena does have a dumb name (named after a bank!), and enjoys many of the problems inherent in producing live music in a massive venue, the sound doesn't *have* to stink! Acts with careful sound engineers can actually have rather decent sound, as we recently discovered listening to Bruce Springsteen's solo act there. While we'd still rather go to shows at the Paramount, if it has to be a megashow, it's far better than the Tacoma Dome! more

Decent..but I have nothing to compare it to 8/13/2005

I've been to the key to watch the Sonics (many times), the Seattle Riegns (old school now defunk female bball), and a Celine Dion concert (hey...I was in highschool and it was my girflfriends idea!). A nice place to go to...seats are nice and cozy. Nothing bad to say really other than Sonics tickets are expensive. more

The new Key arena is very sweet venue for the sports teams! 8/12/2005

I went to the Key arena when we got 4 free box tickets to see our local hockey team the thunder birds. I must say the box seats we got were not the super expensive you see on tv, but were still quite nice! you have your own private food booths that you go to, you do still have to pay for them, but there no lines, and they bring the food to you for no additional price.. Food quality is slightly above average..The box seats are kind of far up, so I'd say not for the fan who likes to be down near the action. But the arena itself is still fairly new, though not as new as safeco field. I haven' t been to any sonics games at the arena, but my brother has and says the only bad seats are the nose bleed seats way up, but even those are exciting in the playoffs as it gets so loud you cant even hear yourself talk. A great time all around! Hockey or basketball! more
