I was excited to hear from a friend who moved to Canada who named her son Zephyr and that for his second Birthday she made reservations at Zephyr Grill at the Kent Station. Arriving on time, we were met with no reservation. It took 30 minutes to round up an area to put us and they sat us right next to a HUGE party for a 50th wedding anniversary. Needlesstosay, the service was scarce to say the least. It took another 40 minutes to take our orders. It was one hour before any food started to arrive. We asked for the manager who was nasty in her demeaner and said our orders had only been placed 45 minutes ago and walked away. My boyfriend and i ordered our steaks medium rare, both steaks came WELL DONE. After we sent his back, they brought a new one to him raw. Which was hard to tell as the light above us was burned out as well. At that point, the other 13 people in our party were done eating. He declined his meal altogether. The manager came once again and said they would throw it back on the grill and that is the best she could do. Our poor waiter was thoroughly embarrassed and said the manager was new and so was he but that he was seeking new employment in a more organized setting. We were then presented with a bill with my boyfriends dinner removed from the bill but there were addtional charges for items we did not eat or drink. And sadly for some reason the gratuity they added to our bill was 38%. I expressed to the manager that this whole thing was a fiasco from the start as my friend even had emails regarding the reservation they so conveniently claimed to know nothing about as well as the timeframe we were served and the condition of the food and of course lastly, her unwillingness to make it right. This is the first and last time we will be dining at Zephyr Grill in Kent!!!
