These hair girls know their stuff. I have been pleased every time I take my kids in there.

Expensive and Constantly up selling. 2/13/2016

I will not be going back to Kenneth's in Reynoldsburg. I have given opportunity after opportunity to my stylist to get the style I was trying to achieve, it did not happen! My stylist wanted to do highlight every month. I thought this was excessive and said no. I never highlighted my hair every month. I feel this is hard on your hair and very expensive! I tried Kenneth's because my hairstylist passed away. Kenneth's is constantly up selling products to you. My hair is short and tried to sell me 4 different products to use. This is crazy! I am so thankful to know that all these products are not necessary!!! I am not confident that her title as master stylist truly questionable. One other thing that I did not appreciate was she always had an assistant in training. I did not want the assistance drying my hair since I paid to have my hair done by the master stylist. I am done with Kenneth's! more

long,thick,healthy hair... butchered! 1/6/2014

The thickness of my hair is gone. Most women reside to have thicker hair. I did not pay her to thin my hair out to the point that it doesnt feel like my hair anymore. I asked for a trim, and a few short layers around my face. You grow out your hair, you love it, and take care of it, and in 10 minutes it is gone. Hair grows 6 inches a year. It will be back to Where it was in a YEAR! RIDICULOUS. more

Good Service, Bad Communication 5/9/2012

We had our hair and make-up done at Kenneth’s for my wedding. The scheduling was very annoying. I tried to schedule the hair and make-up appointments at the New Albany Salon that I go to. They said I could schedule mine, but had to call the call center to schedule the rest (which was annoying because why couldn’t I just schedule everything at one time?). I spoke with one of their event specialists and got everything scheduled. I had to call back to schedule a few more appointments, and when I spoke with them on the phone the schedule they were telling me they had in their system did not match the schedule they had emailed me. I had to call back one more time to add a few make-up appointments, and the schedule again did not match what they had sent me previously. I was very nervous that something was not going to go right the day of my wedding. The day of my wedding all the appointments were right on schedule and everything went smoothly. The only bad thing that happened was that the hairdresser for my maid of honor burnt her head with the curling iron. Thank goodness she had a good make-up artist and you couldn’t even tell that she had gotten burnt. Though she didn’t really get a sincere apology from the technician. I don’t know that I would use Kenneth’s again for my special even because of my experience with the call center and scheduling. It was one more thing to stress about that I didn’t need. I love my hair dresser and spa technician though so I decided to put up with it so I could have them prep me for the big day. more

They are butchers!!! 1/3/2011

DO NOT let the Kenneth's at Polaris touch your hair. They ruined me. I went in with long hair down my back and wanted a long bob that was below chin length. I had ten pages of photos of Rene Russo's hair from The Thomas Crowne Affair. I made it clear that I HATE the short in back look and longer in front. But what did I get? A reverse mullet!!!!!! It's the Kate Gosselin haircut. They cut the back of my hair in 1-inch layers up to my crown, notched out the ears, and then made long as assymetrical wings in front. The first girl, Erica, had made a mistake cutting off my ponytail (I was donating my hair) too short and uneven. It was shorter than I wanted but it could have been evened out, but she panicked and just quit on me. The manager sent me to Zoe, who proceeded to ignore everything I said about hating the reverse mullet. She took off an an addition 3 inches or so, but she wouldn't let me see a mirror so I didn't realize what she was doing. When I got upset when I saw the front and reached up and felt the back, she said, "Well, you're not getting the haircut you wanted, so get over it!" Then she refused to let me have a mirror to see the back. The "manager" came over and Zoe looked at her and said, "She's not going to like anything, so it doesn't matter." The manager then looked at me and said that they have other clients waiting and I would have leave. OMG!!!! I kept telling them that I did NOT want this style and I kept begging them to wet my hair and see the natural texture which is extremely curly---BEFORE they cut, but they said they knew best. It was beyond awful and it will take years to grow out. I had to get a wig to cover up the hacked up back. I look like a cancer patient with or without the wig. They should lose their license. I have photos if anyone wants to see what kind of work they do at Kenneth's. more

I don't plan on going again 2/17/2010

I used to go to Kenneth's when I wanted something good. But I went to get specialty color in my hair (teal) for Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. They told me they didn't have the color but told me where I could get it and what kind I needed to get. So I did that and came back for the service. My hair looked great.... for one day that is! After 3 days you could not see the color at all, or only if you were looking for it. When I went back to get them to do it over I was told that they weren't responsible for the color since it was not their color and that I could talk to the stylist to see if she would do it again. I told the lady that I was told to buy this color and that it would last! She didn't care. Said that it wasn't their responsibilty since it did not come from their store. I paid almost $100 for them to do that and it lasted less than 3 days. They were rude and don't deserve any money from me! more

Overpriced and Snobby Service 11/17/2009

They try to upsell you on everything. It cost $20 for conditioner and another $20 to blowdry your hair. They gave me attitude when I payed 20% tip in cash. Another time I went and they mischarged me. It was their mistake and they tried to get me to pay for it. They are a large company and I think they should eat the price. If a business quotes you a price and you pay, then they have no right to extort more money from you. I highly recommend that you don't go to one, especially the Mill Run location. more

Worst I have ever had!!!!! 10/4/2009

I spent over $270 on products cut and color. Four days later the color faded and my grey was showing. I went back to have it touched up and was ridiculed by the hair dresser who even asked others in the salon to look at my hair. I then went to another high end salon to fix my problem. They told me my haircut was very uneven and the coloring was not left on my hair long enough that it why my grey was coming through. I have never had a worse haircut or color in my life as with Kenneth's Salon. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. more

Ruined Special Day! 5/30/2009

Planning a special day for my best friend and bride to be, I had spent hours calling around salons and day spas searching for the best available prices. I settled on Kenneth's initially excited because the receptionist/scheduler confirmed that each wash and style would be between $25 and $27. Therefore I eagerly scheduled 2 hair appointments letting the scheduler know we had another appointment scheduled down the road to get our makeup done and was therefore on a tight schedule. She insured that we would have more than enough time and even suggested pushing our appointments back a half an hour so we wouldn't have a gap in our schedule. Ha! Thank goodness I didn't take her up on that offer! Upon arriving early to Kenneth's waiting patiently until our appointment times, 5 minute after our scheduled appointments, then 10 and then 20. FINALLY the bride-to-be's stylist came out, and then mine ANOTHER 10 MINUTES LATER! Once rushed through my styling I went to check us both out, and low and behold my style was $27, but the bride-to-be's $55!!!!! Her hair being about half the length of mine, and her stylist spending less time on her. I discussed with the manager our unacceptable wait time and false-advertisement of prices by the scheduler. She refused to do anything about the situation, not even apologizing about our wait time... and not to mention us missing our next appointment due to their un-organizational. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to pay more than advertised and you have nothing else to do for the entire day. Choose Penzone's, right down the road, much, much nicer facility, pricing and sales staff. more

Horrible! 4/16/2009

Good: The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.. Bad: I went in for only a Malibu Treatment that takes 15 minutes. I was told when I got there that I didn't have an actual appointment (which I made a week prior) and then sat there for an hour with goop running down my face and ruining my shirt that wasn't protected by an apron. And the treatment didn't do anything at all to my hair- she basically just washed and used their Malibu, hello..I have that at home. Also they charged me TRIPLE because I have long hair.. Improvements: Need to have more organization in their scheduling and no stylist should have more than two customers at a time. Mine was working with five people at the same time I was there.. Other: This is an expensive salon to begin with so when you throw out that much money you want to see results and feel like you are being treated with respect. I was ignored the entire time I was there and it cost me more in damages than it was worth.. more

First great haircut in years! 2/28/2007

I have wavy/curly hair, and I've been to so many salons around town, I've stopped counting. No one seems to know what to do with my curls! I finally asked a woman I work with, who has curls like mine, where she got her gorgeous curls cut. She said at Kenneth's in Gahanna! So, I gave it a shot. Even though the after-cut style was kind of weird, I've only had a couple of bad hair days since I got it cut - and that was 2 months ago! I've never had that happen before. Frankly, I'm in awe! I think the guy's name was Jim. He was good but SUPER expensive! ($54!!!) looks exactly like I wanted it! At least the cut has stayed nice for a long time. :) more

Great hair cut! 8/26/2006

My last review was of the salon in Polaris (for a massage), but now I must review the one on Morse Rd in Gahanna. Last weekend I treated myself to a hair cut from an actual salon, for the first time ever! It was super easy to schedule, and I got in the same morning I called. I was amazed! Jill cut my hair, and she was very nice. She came out to greet me and take me back to her "station". We discussed possible looks, then she led me to get my hair washed. That was great! It was a mini head massage & wash at the same time. I might have fallen asleep but for the fact it was so busy there. We had a nice conversation while she cut my hair, then styled it for me. I was very impressed, and quite frankly this is the best hair cut I think I've ever gotten. It was well worth it, well worth the wait to be seen, and well worth the $34 just for the haircut- not to mention the smoothing gel I bought which cost $10 and then the tip I left. LOL I've never given that large of a tip before! I would recommend this place for hair cuts and styles. I didn't see one person walk out of there with a bad "do"! more

Great stylists! 4/8/2006

I've been getting my hair cut here for about a year. They have great stylists who will do what you want, but give you suggestions for change. I always leave with great looking hair. Unlike other salons where I felt that I had to go home and wash my hair immediately, I want this look to last! more

Awesome! 3/21/2006

For Mother's Day last year, my husband finally gave me something I've been wanting for a long time- a certificate to a day spa. It was definately worth the wait! The women who worked there were all very friendly, made sure I was comfortable, offered me iced water.. there was a minimal amount of conversation, to make the setting more peaceful. I enjoyed the music, the aromatherapy, the quietness. I felt like my belongings were safe in the locker area. I didn't have to worry about men being around to make me uncomfortable. It was just a great experience all around. I would recommend Kenneth's to anybody, and even to a man. I think a good massage would make a guy's day! more

Pamper Yourself 11/18/2005

I always ask for gift cards from Kenneth's. I've had pedicures and massages. They are both wonderful. The facilities are top notch. I think they are more expensive than most places, but it's worth it in the end. more

Saved my Wedding Hair 10/18/2005

I went to my normal hair dresser for the day of my wedding. We had discussed my hair many times, but after the style was completed, it was NOTHING like we had discussed. I left, resigned to the fact that I wouldn't like it. I went to Kenneths in Powell, because that is where my mom and sister were having their hair done. The Kenneths staff attacked my hair and fixed it. WHen my mom went to pay them, they said it was no problem and no charge. Now, I go to the Powell Kenneths for everything. They are talented and caring people! And so far, my hairdresser has not been promoted to the point that I cannot afford her. more

A place to treat myself 9/17/2005

I've only been there for a facial and a massage but it was the best $150 I've spent on myself in a long time. The staff was very friendly and easy to get along with. They just treat you like royalty. I can't afford to go there all the time but it is definetly one of my favorite indulgences. more

Kenneth's 9/14/2005

The staff at Kenneth's are highly trained and take the time to determine what type of look you are going for. They are always providing me with style ideas and tips for maintaining healthy, manageable hair. The staff is always friendly and I would encourage anyone who is looking for a new stylist to give them a try. more

Excellent massages 7/25/2005

They offer a lot of other services besides massages, but I have not had the opportunity to use their other services yet. The two massages I have had there have been wonderful and I would highly recommend them. I got the relaxation massage, but they also offer other types of massages, as well as nail services, facials and they also do hair at the same location. more
