While I was out marketing we decided to go to the Ale House for lunch. We decided to share the Chicken Nachos cause she said they were really great. Well our server had asked us if we wanted it layered. I asked what does she mean. She said instead of all the cheese and chicken on the top they just put it throughout. I said sure why not. Well we got the bill and for 2 people to split one nacho appetizer and 2 sodas with tip came to $22. I asked her why the nachos were so expensive she said cause you got it layered. I then asked her why she didn't mention that it was extra. She got snotty and said it is called upselling. I informed her that I had been a server for 8 years and that I would NEVER think of upselling like that with out saying anything about the price. She then said people who worry about price dont go out to dinner. I then told her she is mistaken. People who don't worry about price don't go to expensive places. The service wasn't that good and the food was ok. I highly reccomend you ask if you aren't sure about the extra charges if you want to "layer" something.
