My favorite beach of all time.. The sand and water are just perfection. Im going to get married on this beach one day more

most amazing and beautiful beach on the islands! 7/13/2007

If you can't get there early, just come a at around 3 or 4 and you can get a space as someone is leaving. You will still have plenty of time to snorkel and soak up the sun. The sunset here is amazing and worth waiting around for. There is a rip current through the channel to the left, between the cliffs and the reef. Just stay toward the center or to the right and it is ok. Actually, the best part of the reef is toward the right, just past the breakers. Beautiful coral and fish. There are almost always sea turtles.\r \r It is a state park and dogs are not allowed, contrary to a previous review..\r \r This beach is only accessible during the summer months when the surf is low. The large north shore surf makes in very treacherous in the winter time. Pros: incredible scenery and extremely peaceful Cons: parking can be hairy more

best beach i have experienced for snorkeling 5/3/2006

i was there 15 years ago, went back 3 straight years. loved the beaches, especially this one. my two children and i swam with giant sea turtles and their young. unbelievable experience. Pros: back to nature, fantasies, immaculate Cons: roughing it more

speechless. 8/10/2005

the Na Pali coast was/is absolutely beautiful. when we arrived there, mid summer, mid day. there was NO parking. we parked a ways back by a waterfall..nice walk though. got to the beach - very very crowded!!! but the snorkeling was absolutely worth it. such calm waters by the shore because of the HUGE reef...could just sit there all day. I recommend Polihale beach though ... more

One of the best in Hawaii 5/19/2005

Good point about the rip currents to the left side, I got caught in one myself. It was a good thing I was wearing my fins or I'd still be out there. ;o) What a great beach, great place to watch the sunset. If you want a great view from above the beach, hike up the trail for 3/4 mile or so and you'll reach a fantastic overlook of the beach, a little further up the trail and you'll find a breathtaking view down the entire NaPali coastline. Bring a camera, you'll want to take lots of pictures. Pros: Great Sand/Swimming, Free Parking, Empties at sunset Cons: Rip Tides, Basic Facilities more

Gorgeous but still be wary! 7/22/2004

It's easy to get caught up in the beauty of Ke'e Beach, and therefore underestimate the ocean's mighty power! Snorkeling's gorgeous in summer - I saw a giant turtle and thousands of colorful fish. BUT... take my advice, stay away from the reef opening - I was unaware it existed until I got caught in a rip current. It's left near the rocks - where it LOOKS calm! Stay right, where the reef will protect you. Don't swim at all in the winter, as it becomes quite dangerous... but DO go for the scenery, which is breathtaking! Always assess the water conditions in Hawaii before you swim, they're constantly changing. If you DO get caught in a rip current, do this and you will survive: swim parallel to shore - the current is fairly narrow and will release you - then swim back to shore. Don't waste energy fighting it! Pros: Breathtaking scenery, Great snorkeling, Turtles! Cons: , Car robberies occur, Icky facilities more
