A scientific survey was conducted among 6/1/2012

A scientific survey was conducted among those who whined incessantly about the service at this restaurant, Among other things, it was determined that all of them were still breast feeding even though their average age was 34. They apparently took it to heart when their mommies told them they were ""special"" and it was just fine to p_ss and moan about everything and anything in public and that they were cute when they slung snot all over a public forum. This restaurant is good, prices fair and is a treat for those familiar with Iranian cuisine. Not so, apparently, for those who haven't the first clue about what they are talking about. more

Not to great 4/10/2011

The hummus is really good. I do not like the blandness, i do not like their service, i do not know these waiters and waitress that all of you have talked about here, exist in the restaurant. My husband love the food so v go there some times. The only thing is the good quantity for the price, the food is alot.... more

Absolutely Wonderful!! 11/16/2009

My boyfriend and I read all of the reviews and decided to try this place anyway. We went in with the expectation that the service would be horrible and the food possibly bland. This could not have been farther from the truth! Our server, Max, was exceptional! Polite and attentive, our glasses were never empty and there was fresh, hot naan on the table before we even needed it! Pros: Exceptional food, nice atmosphere, great service! Cons: Nothing from our exerience more

SUPER BLAND food 10/21/2009

Very mild, no flavoring in the chicken and beef skewers. THe rice was very dry. No kind of sauce was offerered. In other restaurants they have white (tahini?) sauce and hot sauce. They finally brought hot sauce, which turned out to be....Tabasco sauce! Did not go with the meal at all. Not going back ever. The food is terrible, except for the hummus. Pros: Best garlicky hummus in houston Cons: Everything else is super bland!!! more

Best Hummus & Persian food in Texas 8/16/2009

This is the Best Hummus & Persian food in Texas. Everything we have had there has been excellent. it's great for dates, families, or meals with lots of friends & extended family. Call ahead if you have a big group. It's great for take-out as well...call ahead and it's ready when you arrive. The hummus, chicken barg, beef kubideh, and rice with berries are excellent. Also great is the yougurt with cucumbers or shallots. It's hard to stop eating the fresh bread served, herbs & feta cheese served before the meal. Pros: the food! hummus, bread, chicken barg, beef kubideh more

Great food, service, and atmosphere at a reasonable price 5/9/2009

My husband, two growing boys (13 & 10), and I went to Kasra this evening. We got there about 5:45 and went prepared for good food with lousy service in a sparse restaurant. My love for hummus overran my fears. Pros: Great food and Service: especially the Hummus Cons: A little far from my house more

Great Food, ok service 2/10/2009

Great food. The service is sometimes great and sometimes very poor, but usually somewhere in the middle. Still the food makes up for any service issues and the stuff in always nice, just not always attentive. Pros: Great Food Cons: Unpredictable service more

Outstanding food, unpredictable service. 1/8/2009

I absolutely love the food here! The hummus is to die for, and the taftoon bread refreshed every blink of an eye is fluffy, also served with feta. This visit I decided to opt for the saltani dish instead of the usually delicious kubideh and I was very pleased. There is a delightful dish called fesenjan which is flavored with pomegranate and walnuts, it is outstanding. I order this as a small side to pour over my basmati or dill rice. I have to say however that I usually dine along with my persian friend but went with my husband this time and the service was completely different. I was pampered beyond belief while my husband was blatantly ignored. It was so over the top it was funny instead of insulting like it should have been. The waiter acted as though I was the only one at the table, starting out with bringing only one water out when we sat and put it in front of me. He only spoke to me and I never had to ask for a refill. My husband however almost dehydrated into ashes and when he asked for the check the waiter gave it to me. I promptlly handed it over to my husband. Then after taking the credit card from my husband he brought it back to me. It was so over the top it way amusing instead of insulting like it should have been. Bottom line one of my fav restaurants in Houston but my husband won't be returning. Pros: FOOD FOOD FOOD Cons: Waitstaff can be unpredictable more

Good Persian food 10/21/2008

Service was excellent, waitress from Morraco was very friendly and quick and outstanding. Food is good...but it is not even close to Shamshiri in D.C. or Shahrzad in Atlanta. However food was much better than any of the Persian resturant in Miami area. Pros: service, value, ambience Cons: quality of food more

Great dining experience, but only if you dine with Persians!! 9/16/2008

I have dined at Kasra many times and ALWAYS enjoy the food. There is no question that this is the best Persian food in town (besides home-cooked Persian of course!) . Everything I have ever ordered has been excellent. Pros: Everything about the food!!! Great lamb, beef, and fresh hot bread. Cons: Service more

Good foot but.... 7/27/2008

I have been to kasra many many times. yes, their food is good, especially the humus! unfortunately, service is usually downright poor. slow service, order mistakes, slow ordering/checkout, etc... every time i crave some good persian food, i try my very best to avoid kasra if i want to have a pleasant and well serviced meal. Pros: good persian food. Cons: poor service and poor team of servers. more

Very nice surprise, indeed 3/4/2008

While walking into Tuesday Morning early this afternoon, I noticed this little place next door. So when I finished my shopping I stopped in for lunch. It's a lovely, tastefully decorated spot. The service was almost too prompt, but I can live with that. Today's Special was 4 kabob size chucks of beef tenderloin, cooked to order, I must emphasize, with grilled tomatoes and delicious rice. I don't recall eating better rice anywhere. You had a choice of a house salad or the hummus, I had both and took about a cup of hummus home with me. The bread is the size of a dinner plate and very tasty. The medium rare steak was excellent , as well. I don't think I have ever had red meat in any Mediterrean or Middle Eastern restaurant that wasn't too overcooked for my taste. So it was a delightful surprise! Will definitely return with more people, so we can share a variety of the tempting offerings. Pros: The meat was perfectly cooked to order, and the rice was an even bigger surprise. Cons: The food was all delivered within minutes, but it was lunch time. more

Best Hummus Ever 2/10/2008

I was truly impressed when a friend took me here 2 years ago. Their plates are big enough to share.I normally am not a fan of hummus but, theirs is the best I have ever had! Try the chicken sultani and the hot tea. The complamentery cheese and herb plate along with their fresh hot off the grill bread will most certainly keep you coming back for more. On the downside the waitstaff can be a bit impatient if you are in-decisive and don't know about the cuisine. I would suggest studying the menu before hand if you are being adventurous. Everything is always fresh, tasty and well priced. Pros: fresh authentic cuisine Cons: unfriendly waitstaff more

Best Persian Cuisine in Houston for sure 1/6/2008

Best one in Houston, I have been here for 3 or 4 times never got disappointed not a fancy restaurant that you can expect like a extraordinary service from the staff but food is very good. Keep in mind if you wanna eat good at least you need to consider 15$ here. more

Food strictly ok, service bad 12/19/2007

Pretty much summed up in 5 words, food is just ok but service was very bad. do not waste your time here. more

wonderful lamb shank 12/9/2007

great food . I like the lamb shank. It is the best I have ever had and they have it all the time. The bread and the persian tea are especially good. I have been back 4 times since being introduced to the place by a persian friend and business associate. I have always gone for lunch and have gotten fast friendly service at reasonable prices. The owner came around to chat which I appreciated because it made me feel he cared about his customers. I plan to go back. Pros: good food Cons: parking is a bit crowded more
