Kanki is acceptable but not a winner for me 8/4/2006

Kanki offers Hibachi meals, sushi, tempura and other dishes. They cook the hibachi meals in front of you entertaining you with interesting feats of action involving your food. I have so many friends who love Kabuki and would eat there every chance they get. However, I am not a fan of their food. It's not bad, but it never sits well with me. I have ordered different Hibachi combos, all of which leaves me burping. I have eaten their sushi and it is good (not my favorite though). The Kanki on Wake Forest Road in Raleigh has a better atmosphere (Koi Pond & garden) but same quality of food. Kabuki in Cary offers the same show but with better food quality. more

Cool show. 4/5/2006

This is the best hibachi place I have ever been to. The thing that really makes this hibachi restaurant over others are the chefs. We have always had really funny chefs that really makes the meal. The portion sizes are huge. You start with drinks, soup and salad. The ginger dressing here is excellent. You then get jumbo shrimp that he cooks in front of you. I usually get the chicken and steak teriyaki. The steak and chicken are always tender and perfectly cooked. You also get vegetables and rice. I love the sauces that come with the meal. The white sauce is by far my favorite, it tastes really good. (Low calorie too, I'm sure. Haha) This is a great dining experience and convenient because it is in the Crabtree Vally Mall. more

Who Needs Dinner and a Movie 3/22/2006

Kanki is a good choice for people who want some entertainment with their dinner and aren’t afraid to pay for it. Instead of regular tables, restaurant patrons are seated around grills where a trained chef will cook your food in front of you. Meals start with soup and salad, continue with a shrimp appetizer, then finish with your choice of meats and vegetables served with fried rice. Top everything with their special sauce for pure eating heaven. I have never been disappointed. more

Food and a show 2/22/2006

Kanki is neat because they cook your food in front of you. The chefs there are not just cooks, they are entertainers, they flip and spin your food around so every meal here is not just a meal its a show as well. When i was in elementry school we actually went on a field trip to see this spectacle. my favorite part was that your take out was wrapped up into a tin foil bird. The food here is expensive, buttastes great and is entertaining to watch. more

Good food, great show 8/22/2005

At Kanki Japanese House of Steaks and Sushi, all food is prepared in front of you. If you opt for sushi, the chefs will fix it right in front of you at the large sushi bar. Otherwise, the hostess will seat you, possibly with other people, at a hibachi table. The wait staff will take your order and bring your drinks, salad (try the ginger dressing - yum) and/or soup. Then, a chef will come and and entertain you with his cooking skills. The food is delicious. Lunch is cheaper, but the show at dinner is always better. more
