Dog Lovers beware!! Run don't walk!\r

My little Diego, a 7 year old miniature dachshund , stayed two weeks boarding in 2010 at K9 University. I was called by the owner the day of pick up that he seemed in pain and was dragging his back leg. He ended up having 2 back surgeries at 6 months intervals by the great Dr. Podell, the only Vet neurosurgeon in the Midwest. I thought I was out of luck since the breed is known to be fragile. K9 University denied any incidents, of course. After that he stayed with friends and other dog lovers and never had another problem. I had to leave town suddenly two weeks ago and I made arrangements at K9 University since no one else was available. Diego stayed 8 days. I specifically instructed the owner that the dog was fragile and not allowed to jump. Same scenario: I get a phone call the day of pick-up (again) to let me know that Diego was dragging his right posterior leg. I called the owner 2 days later to report how dissatisfied and upset I was about Diego's negligent care. I was on my way to Dr. Podell again. Ruby aka ""Co-owner"" answered me that this was my fault, the dog should not have stayed there, and that Diego was overweight! It is difficult not to put two and two together now...If you love your dog, there are plenty of other dog care facilities with much better reviews than K9 University. \r
NB 1: the boarding for 8 days was an expensive $420 for that care! \r
NB 2: Ruby told me that my dog was overweight nevertheless she gave me 9 bags of doggie treats when I left...
