Great for young kids 4/11/2006

I have done some volunteer work at Troy's Junior Museum, though I have not attended it as a visitor. I feel as if I have gotten a good feeling about what the museum is really about. I think that if you have young children, the Junior Museum could be a great way to spend an afternoon. I think above the age of 7 or 8, children may begin to get tired of the museum. Some of their features include an animal room, a play room, a bubble room with a bubble machine, and exhibits on natural things. They also have a gift shop with numerous educational and amusing toys for young kids. The Museum offers services for Birthday parties. I think that it could be a cute idea to have a birthday party there and stray from the standards of in the home or bowling alleys, etc. more

Now it's the Children's Museum 8/10/2005

I do like the new location in Rensselaer Tech Park much more than there Troy location. Easier to get to and better parking. I've always thought the cost was too excessive for what it is though. The displays never change and can be a bit dull. The live animal show is fun - IF you can catch it. For $6 a person (if you are not a member) I expect more for my money than I have ever gotten at the Children's Musuem. I only go about once a year when I've run out of ideas in the middle of winter. more

Junior Museum a good trip for a rainy day! 7/12/2005

The NEW Junior Museum in North Greenbush (located in the Tech Park) is a great and interesting place. The museum is good for all aged children, young through teens. While all areas may not appeal to all ages there is something for everyone. The aquariums catch the littlest of eyes! The $6 entry cost seems reasonable (although with 2 kids and 2 adults $24 is not a cheap afternoon out). The exibits kept the kids attention and all while being very educational and entertaining. It is easy to get to and the new location is clean and airconditioned for these hot hot summer days! Worth a trip to from anywhere in the capital region! more
