Jumps Bar & Grill

They've come a long way. I first went to Jumps around '06, didn't go for about 5 years, and now I'm shocked at all they've added. They have 3 nice pool tables, wraparound couches, better lighting and they've always had a great karaoke setup.\r They even keep plenty of propane for the two warmers outside. Also, they added food to the menu and why people ever complain about bar food is beyond me. It's food you buy at a bar- it'll never be Olive Garden so stop expecting it to be. more

I love this place and have been coming here for more than 10 years! I always have a good time. Low prices, sharp eyed, fast pouring bartenders keep your drinks full no matter how busy they are. 2 Huge 120"" projector screens and lots of LCD TV's keep every sport playing for stock cars to MMA. All races come here, all creeds and income levels, Safe, never any trouble. Awesome karaoke with real guitars, fog machine and laser stage lighting. Even a stripper pole if your daring. For neighborhood bar its a gem and one of the only bars i know in Houston that has a good crowd every single night of the week. That should say something right there more

I have been there with two groups and recently had request for a third. The bar tenders offered to make me, the dd, whatever drink I wanted (unleaded of course) for free. Everyone is cool, ""Hey pull up a seat, my name is"", I felt welcome. Sunny Day Tours recommends this as a fun low cost destination for groups who cant find a sober friend on Friday Night!!! more

This is a nice space with a patio, not cramped but not a freakin' barn either. Pros: Great karaoke, good staff, fun crowd, fair prices more

My friends found this place on the internet. We went after we saw that the crowd at Bulls and Bear Tavern was a lot older than we prefer (50's to 90's). We are in are early twenties so we wanted to be with people closer to our age that wouldn't flip their top if my friend sang Fly Leaf. Great place to sing karaoke! The KJ is fun, energetic, and puts on an awesome show. The sound system is one of the best I've encountered in Houston. The staff is friendly and fun. have only been a couple of times. nice comfy neighborhood bar. the drink specials are awesome. the regulars are very friendly. there are a few of the regular females that are very easy to get to know. especially on the drink special evenings. there is one woman...well i have never seen anyone that small and petite take on that much action, with multiple partners and no hole was barred!!!!!great place. I love this place. Ever since the first time I went, I loved it. The crowd is friendly and familiar, whether or not you know them. Everyone is soooo easy going. Everyone claps for you after you butcher a karaoke performance. It's just great! All I can say is ""wow"" and that is not a good wow. This is a place I will definitely not return to. The karaoke setup is great, but if you ""bump"" into the wrong person, be ready to experience some drama. The sad thing is that the staff became involved with all of the goings on and not in a good way. It seems the bar is filled mostly with regulars, and there are groups that are extremely polarized. I've never written a review before but felt compelled to after the experience last night. It was my second visit to Jumps, and I wanted to have a beer and sing. Somehow I ended up in the crossfire of people yelling and threatening each other and that included staff members. I'm still in disbelief over what I witnessed. I accept that there are sometimes bar fights since people are often drinking heavily, but I did not feel safe. As a woman, I would like to know that if something like that happens, that you can add least count on the staff to help control the situation instead of propagating it. This is always a good place to chill with friends or have a b-day party...good prices, specials, and a door guy for security. The karaoke is top-rate, and the staff and customers are cool! I love this Bar!! The owners are really nice and you will see Jeff there almost every day. He loves new people coming in to bar. The bar staff is great, all female. Props to Margie, Aimee, Marilyn, Paula, and Angie. There are specials every night. On weekdays there are drink specials, on weekends there are shot specials. There is also karaoke five days a week. Friday and Saturday is packed. Four great pool tables!! Variety of people show up, you never know who you might be talking to. Pool league almost every night. Stop by to find out more.
