Juan Colorado's is a quaint, little Mexican restaurant on the corner of 10th and TV Highway in Hillsboro. It is located behind Izzys off the main street.
Admittedly, I was reluctant to try it, as the outside did not look very appealing. Finally, lured in by the smell of warm tortillas during a fall commute, I can honestly say that I am happy I ventured in.
Juan Colorado's has a huge menu offering a variety of Mexican foods. There are also some items for those of you who prefer to keep it all American. My husband will only eat cheeseburgers at a restaurant and fortunately Juan Colorado's has some great ones, he tells me.
The lunch values are pretty good ranging from 6-9 dollars a plate (and the plates are big). Dinners are a bit pricier but the food is warm and yummy and you don't leave hungry. The never ending tortilla chips and salsa are also a plus. This is definitely not a place you want to go if you are watching your weight.
