  • Joseph P. Capone is a Philadelphia Trial Attorney Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Joe is a skilled courtroom attorney and one of a dwindling number of attorneys that practices both plaintiffs law and criminal defense. He is equally skilled in Civil Law and Criminal Law. Personal Statement: * For the past 25 years, thousands of people have turned to me for advice and comfort in times of need&and I have heeded their calls, whether harmed in an accident or accused of a crime. * I treat every client exactly the way I would want to be treated: with respect, dignity and warmth. My clients remain friends, knowing that I am available for them in any situation with advice and counsel. Just call me and I will answer. * I tell all prospective clients, trying to make a decision concerning the hiring of a lawyer to ask one thing: The first question to your lawyer is how many cases have you tried in court?&. * In my case, the answer is over One Thousand trials, trying cases from Federal Court to County Courts, in many jurisdictions and before hundreds of Judges, pleading to thousands of Jurors. * When you walk into a courtroom, facing a Judge, a Jury, or an Adversary, you want to feel respected and at ease knowing that you will be guided through an uncertain path& When clients say Joes my Lawyer they do so with pride and knowledge that I am by their sides with vast courtroom experience, knowledge of the law, and the heart of a Lion. * I was born and raised in South Philadelphia, with the good fortune to be reared in a loving environment. I attended Bishop Neumann High School and then went onto LaSalle University eventually meeting a Federal Magistrate Judge named Tullio Leomporra, who changed the course of my life by persuading me to enroll in Law School instead of completing an MBA. I graduated from Temple University School of Law in 1987. I immediately began trying cases and have continued until the present time, gaining the respect of my colleagues and the admiration of my clients. * I have served as a Judge Pro Tem in the Court of Common Pleas; as a Presiding Judge in the Temple National Trial Advocacy Program, and remain as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Joan A. Brown in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. I have had the honor of addressing thousands of people in my profession but the best talks I have given are to the Children of Philadelphia and South Jersey, at their schools, guiding them and advising them to avoid bad decisions and to take the time to make the right choices. * With the experience, knowledge and resources of my Firm, I will fulfill the commitment to our clients of personally advising them on the Best Course to follow for their case. If I cannot take on your case, I will refer you to an attorney specializing in a specific area of the law that is needed.. Areas of Law: * Criminal Law,Personal Injury,Business L Personal injury law encompasses a wide range of accidents and incidents. Common personal injury cases involve slip and falls, medical malpractice, auto accidents and traumatic brain injuries. If you have been hurt because of anothers negligence, you may be entitled to compensation for your pain and suffering. To better understand what damages may be available to you, check out this helpful guide litigation,Real Estate,Family Law and Estates. Every year, thousands of young children and teens are arrested and tried for a wide range of criminal offenses. Watch this video to gain a better understanding of this area of criminal law. * Almost all kids make mistakes. Unfortunately,a criminal conviction can completely derail the course of a young life. To better understand why some teens act out,its important to note that a childs brain is still developing until the age of 25. Because the prefrontal cortex,or the area responsible for impulse control,is the last area to develop, its easy to see why some teens make seemingly reckless decisions. * Joseph Capone,Esq. is dedicated to helping Philadelphia children and teens who have broken the law avoid criminal convictions. If your child or family member is in trouble, call a lawyer immediately. Our criminal defense office can be reached at (215) 557-0070
