Jonathan Salon Red Bank

I have been to many colorist in Monmouth County & NYC when working there to try and find a really good colorist for my hard to manage naturally dirty blonde hair. My highlights have either been to light with no dimension or hardly at all. It is hard to get them right and keep my hair which is naturally dry very healthy. Well after the last debacle with a senior colorist I was going to for the past few yrs I came across Jonathan from a referral and was so glad I did. My hair has never looked better or has been more healthier since going to him since last October. I am so very glad I found him as he is as talented as he is nice and so glad to find someone so close that is so good, listens to what you want and actually cares too. The rest of his staff are awesome and sweet also. more

I do not normally write reviews (good or bad) but was so disgusted by my experience at this salon feel it is necessary to share. I am a breast cancer survivor who has been having a very emotional year dealing with hair loss due to chemo. After finishing chemo I had extensions placed at another salon. After a few months I was ready to have them removed. After calling and booking an appt weeks in advance anxiously waited to see how my hair had grown. The day of my appt I was running 5 minutes late and called in a timely manner to let them know only to be told that I was not in the system for that day but instead they mistakenly put me in for 2 weeks later. They asked if I could come in 2 1/2 hours later which I agreed to even and ensured me that they would be able to take me at that time even though I had already driven almost an hour to get there. Upon my arrival 2 1/2 hours later I was told that they needed more time and asked if I could come back a little later. Being desperate to get this done before my upcoming surgery which I had told them about I agreed again. As I was trying to waste sometime I received a phone call telling me that I can either come back much later or even better for them the next day. This to me was unacceptable. Why should I a breast cancer survivor with 3 young children at home with a babysitter be punished for a mistake they made? They did not take any responsibility for their mistake and did not do anything to try and help the situation. If anything they only made things worse by telling me that they understand how I feel. No they didn’t or they would never have had such disrespect for me and the toll this experience was adding to my emotional distress. I spoke with Jonathan personally that day as well as his one employee and I just wanted to share how disgusted I was with how he handled this situation. more

I had a great experience at this salon! I had Jonathan and he gave me the best highlights and haircut that I have ever had! The salon was cool with a NYC vibe and very professional! Can't wait for my next visit! more

My daughter and I love Johnathan's salon. We have literally been all over Monmouth County looking for a salon. They have the best color by far. We are so happy we found Johnathan's. Emily is the best! Linda and Lauren more

I have been trying to change stylists for a year and read wonderful reviews about Jonathan in Red Bank. When I made the appt I expressed my anxiety about trying a new stylist only to find out later that I was expressing my concerns with Jonathan himself. Once entering the very small salon I then continued to listen to a conversation between Jonathan and his employee about the time she wanted off....as I sat. To then continue a day that started with some anxiety, I continued to feel very removed from Jonathan who answered phone calls, continued conversations with his 1 person staff and so on. I truly am not one to write reviews, but the overall experience was horrible. I went in thinking this "stylist" with rave reviews and extreme prices would be everything I hoped for, but was seriously disappointed. I will not be back. more

Jon cut my hair yesterday and I can honestly say that it is the best haircut I have ever had! I live in a hot climate and spend a lot of my time scuba diving so I need something that I can tie back when I need to but can still look good in the evenings or when I travel! And, a good enough cut that I can dry naturally and still look good. Thanks Jon, I feel great!!! more

Heather is the best!!! She actually listens to what her customers want! She spent a considerable amount of time talking to me about my hair and helping me decide what would work for me. I left with beautiful hair.. the cut and the color were even better than I had hoped. I would recommend her to anyone, anytime! She is friendly and warm in addition to being a great stylist. All of the other people that I encountered in the salon were wonderful too. Jonathan was very nice and welcoming...everyone treats you as if you are important. I loved my experience. I have found a new salon home! more
