Many delays in getting small rear window on car replaced 7/14/2007

I called Johnson glass to get a replacement rear driver side window on a 2002 Mazda Protege' sedan. They called back and said the window was in stock and bring the car in at 1:00pm Friday afternoon. I showed up on time with the car and asked if the window was there and that the technician was there to install it. I was advised that everything was there and the job will be finished in about an hour. After 30 min they tell me the window is the wrong one, that they ordered the right one but what was delivered was wrong. I guess they did not check the part delivered to what was ordered. They said the correct part was on its way and would be there in 30 minutes after about an hour a truck showed up with a driver side mirror no rear window glass! Again I was told in another 30 minutes the correct window would be delivered by another truck on its way. At 5:30pm the correct window finally made it to their store and was installed. They did take $30 dollars off the price to compensate for the delay. I'm just amazed at how many errors were made on one simple task. Most of the issues were associated with Johnson glass supplier, at least that is the impression they gave me and they compensated with a discount. My advise is to ask all the questions before you get involved (is the part there and correct? is the technicain available ?0 and after thsy say yes make sure you have plenty of spare time. This simple 1 to 1.5 hour choir took all afternoon because some folks could not perform their job. This is the second time I have been disappointed by Johnson glass. On another occasion they installed a windshield on my Mazda Tribute and it leaked so bad that it caused the headliner to get soaked and need repaired. To their credit they did replace the windshield at no cost to me but this time it was due to poor craftsmanship of the technician. Johnson glass quotes excellent prices but this sometimes comes at extra expense due to lack of consistent quality. more

Non-experienced technicians 12/25/2005

I recently took my convertible into Johnson Glass to get the side window replaced after the car had been broken into. The staff at Johnson Glass called me and told me to bring the car in early, but upon my arrival, they told me they could not get to it until the previously scheduled time anyways. Later in the day, they called me back saying the car was ready. When I arrived at the store, they proceeded to ask me if the window sealed before it was broken. What kind of question is that? They said they would fix it. An hour and a half later, they came in to tell me to come look at it. I went to the car, and nothing had changed. I started giving them ideas, and after about 10 minutes of my, the customer's, ideas, the window was adjusted properly. Several hours after we got the car home, we tried to roll the window down, and it would not work!!! The window was even loose!!! I am very dissatisfied with their technicians and their customer service. I will not be returning to this business. more

Excellent Fast Work 11/15/2005

I backed into my fence in my car and broke my side mirror. After a lot of calling around I ended up taking my car here. They were great people, they didn't make me feel like some stupid woman like most places do. They told me it was only going to cost $10.00 to replace the mirror and it only took then 25 minute's. That was wonderful considering I had a 4 year old and a 6 year old with me. more
