Went to Foley's on a Saturday night ready to get some good Irish pub food and some tasty beers. There was a short wait which we made go even faster by getting cocktails at the bar...

An Union Square Oasis 4/29/2006

Yeah, you're likely to have an expat on one side and a tourist or twenty on the other, but if you've spent the afternoon trapped in the shopping hell that is Union Square, there's nothing nicer than a well poured Murphy's Stout while sidled up to the bar at Johnny Foley's. If I am ever in need of a time-out while exercising the bank card downtown, you can be sure I'll end up there before making my way through the tourists to get home. more

Great shopping district meeting place! 3/9/2006

Johnny Foleys is representative of both the old and more modern Irish restaurant/pubs now found back home in Ireland. Upscale quality decor with a wonderful long, wooden bar with gleaming brass while still with that old Irish pub feel! The food is terrific, and while you get California cuisine and good old American standbys, you also get Irish favorites: Cottage Pie, Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash, etc. The noise level can be high for talking while dining in certain areas, but the variety of nooks and crannies make it more enjoyable. Definitely a great place to meet your friends for a drink or enjoy lunch or dinner! more

Worst Service I've Encountered in the City 8/27/2005

What can I say beynd the title? The bartenders make you feel unwelcome, and even the manager says she doesn't care about customer service! She actually sais that directly to my face. I will not go back to this place until there's a change in management, and would suggest you don't waste your time either. more
