Joes Automotive Repair

I chose Joe's Automotive as my current mechanic mostly due to them working on a car I had before and not knowing where else to go. By the time that the towing tuck was pulling my car up its ramps, I finally was fed up with other automotive companies who were not giving me the time of day to get me a quote. Joe's quoted me a price within a phone call, whereas it took hours for the dealership to give me a call back. On two different issues, Joe's quoted me a price that was reasonable. When the dealership called back, they quoted me over $400 more than Joe's. The car was ready when expected, and they allowed me to float it until the weekend. When I showed up on Friday after they closed, Joe himself was leaving the lot. He saw that I parked and looked out and rolled the window down, asking what he could do to help me. I told him I was sorry and I'd come back the next day to get my vehicle. He jumped out and gave me excellent customer service. The price was fair, the workmanship has been great so far (no leaks, everything is running smooth) and his going the extra step to make sure I had a great experience has left an impact on me. I will take my vehicle to him in the future and will recommend his services to everyone. more

I have been going to Joe's since I moved to Bellingham in 2004. I have always been impressed with their accurate assessments for time and cost, as well as their fair treatment. They go the extra mile for the customer, keep their costs transparent, and explain everything in a clear, concise way that a layman can understand. My favorite part of Joe's is how well they treat their customers. They want to make sure their customers are happy and feel safe with their vehicles. I had been floating around after being screwed over by the dealership, looking for a good place to take my car. The manager of one of the places that I had tried (it changed hands) recommended Joe. The other places I had tried were just so so,but at Joe's Automotive I found a group of people dedicated to assuring my satisfaction and a warmth that made it a pleasure to return. Before finding Joe's I had never been able to find a mechanic that really did the job well. I had tried about five. Even after purchasing my car from a mechanic that vouched for it mechanically, Joe's still found serious problems which they explained to me in detail, even showing me the bad parts. My car runs like a race car now. It also gets batter gas mileage and feels much safer to drive. In short, Joe doesn't mess around when it comes to repairing your vehicle, so I suggest you go see them if you have need and tell your friends when they do a great job for you. more

Joe's Automotive is a place I can come and know my car will get fixed right, and if not, they will make it right. I have had nothing but great dealings with Joe and his staff. Joe's Automotive Repair was great. They were on it. When I talked to Lance at Joe's he told me he would look into my questions and get back to me. He called me back the same day with the answers and with a quote for the work. They originally quoted $1,000 to fix an oil leak that I had, but they found out it was actually a smaller fix. It ended up only being $500. That was really nice because you never hear of mechanics coming in under their estimate. I have only been using them about 3 months, but it is great. The quality of work is great, and everything is running fine. There is no more leak. It is nice to have a place where I can just drop off my car, and they will take me to work or wherever I need to go. more

I bought a used pickup truck and decided I wanted to restore it because it had a great diesel engine and was a clean truck. It cost a lot of money, but the fact that I went with Joe's Automotive Repair meant that I never had to worry about anything. Their work was always immaculate, and they wouldn't spend any money unless they talked to me first. There were no surprises. Everything was done right the first time. They have a young mechanic there named Ryan, and he is the best mechanic in this town. He does great work and is a really nice guy. I can really work with him. I didn't know them too well at first, but after awhile I realized that they are like family. I can trust them. If I had bought a new truck it would have been 60 or 70 thousand dollars. I needed a pickup truck that could pull a heavy RV, like a 5th wheel. That was the kind of truck we built. I got a truck every bit as nice for less than half the money, and it is all paid for. It was a great experience because I was able to get all that work done by them. It would have been a nightmare to take that job to just anybody. I would not have known what they did, or if they had really done a great job. With Joe's Automotive they did everything until it was a great job. It took about a year to complete, and I didn't have to worry. We take all our cars in there; my car, my wife's car, my daughter's car, and my mother-in-law's car have all gone through there. I never have to worry about them pulling a fast one. The work all gets done upfront. It is the place to go. I'm spoiled now; I will never be able to go anywhere else. George See more

Very little attention to the problem at hand.. A great deal of focus on products and or services not asked for. At these high prices, take your new, old, or in between auto to the dealer. At Joe's they think nothing of finding ways to crank your final bill into the thousands if possible, with absolutely no regard to the age of the vehicle or the financial ability of the customer. I would say my car is worth about $1200, and when I went to Joe's they told me i needed new breaks, etc and it would cost me about $560. WOW! Really really high huh? Then, I called around and found another place 2 blocks away for $220! I would not recomend going here. Are they just trying to scam us college kids because they think we don't know anything about cars? AND my diagnosis was free, but I bet if I told them i had a coupon for 50% off my diagnosis they would have charged me for it... what's up with that? Cons: Pricing more

I took my car in with a very minor problem, and they managed to put the spark plugs back in wrong, break my gas tank door, steal my gas cap, and break off several plastic casings to the inside and outside of my car, and then charge me $200 for a misdiagnoses. I wouldn't recommend even trying to go here. Cons: everything more
