Joe Bean Cafe is located on Main Street in the Middle of Webster. They recently opened in the old space that was the Zamar Cafe and offer some of the same types of fare-Lunch, Coffee, and Desserts.
The place is really large and the atmosphere is inviting. There is also free wireless Internet offered for patrons as well as terminals with PCs in case you didn't happen to lug your computer in with you. I believe they also host local musicians, which the place is clearly good for-In fact I believe when I was there for lunch we sat on the stage!
The coffee is good coffee house fare. I did however, love one of the many freshly brewed ice teas that are available-Many different exotic flavors to choose from.
The biggest complaint is that the salad I had, which was advertised as a complete lunch was so small that it resembled a side salad. The salad was supposed to have feta but there was so little on it that I had to ask for more. When I was brought more in a small cup normally reserved for dressing on the side, it was barley half full. In addition, I paid extra for chicken and there was no were near a full chicken breast on the salad. The dressing was GREAT, definitely home made, the salad was very good, but I just wanted more of it-No one would consider it enough for a meal.
Each of my dining companions liked their lunches but had a similar complaint to my own.
There are a great number of desserts and they look wonderful-Any number of assorted cakes, torts, brownies. The all look fresh (although I did not have one so I can't really tell.) Perhaps the lack of salad is to leave room for one of these sinful treats!
