From the best Tom Kha soup in the city (go for the hot pot) to a spicy and refreshing green papaya salad with sweet beef jerky, Jitlada serves up classic Thai favorites for a very affordable price. Try the larb, try the curries, try the specials and try to leave room for mangoes and sticky rice or an ice cream assortment of mango, green tea or coconut. Most dishes served with a one to five spice scale. The service is very polite and you may luck into going there when the have traditional Thai dancing.
I've eaten there so many times and we still order new dishes with each visit. I recommend getting a few different appetizers and main dishes, then sharing them. But if your tastes go to the extreme (hot or mild), you can probably finish your meal in one sitting if you are really REALLY hungry. A gracious dinner for two rarely runs past $35 including tip, three can eat for around $50-55 with tip.
It's tucked behind the Tara theater, next to the recently added Publix in the shopping center. Don't be put off by the front plant room - that was added with the storefront renovation. Continue through the doors and enjoy what's sure to be your next favorite spot that's just around the corner.
