Wastin' away again in Margaritaville... 7/12/2006

What Jimmy Buffet fan can travel to Key West and not make a stop at the infamous Margaritaville? Certainly not us!!! We had a great visit there with friends (some who munched on their own Cheeseburger In Paradise) but we choose to drink only. What were we drinking??? You guessed it - Margaritas!!! They had quite a selection - both frozen and not. On a Sunday afternoon, the place was really hopping... we had a wait of 20 minutes or so. No band was playing but there was a place for one which I assume happens nightly. The attached gift shop sells a nice selection of Margaritaville souveniers or you can do like we did and order in advance at this http://www.margaritavillestore.com/ ! We'll definitely be stopping by again next time we are in Key West! :) more

Love the atmosphere, food is good 4/15/2006

This was my second Margaritaville visit, the first was in New Orleans. Key West was even better! The feeling is just indescribable (but then again we'd just made it down Duval St. so I might be a bit biased). I remember the raspberry margaritas and especially the chili cheese fries. I still crave them, and sadly I've discovered not every Margaritaville will carry them. More's the pity. The music, predictably is Jimmy Buffett, is very comforting and relaxing. Especially considering the ocean breeze is still coming in from the water. You can barely smell the saltwater but it adds to the ambiance of the place. It is typically filled with tourists, because after all you are in Key West and you are right off the main drag from the cruise line piers. I still have the Tshirt I bought here, it's now 7 years old and it's still holding up. I have great memories of eating lunch here with an old friend. I'd be thrilled to go back again, not for the service though. They were only barely average even on a not-so-busy day. more
