Treated like a Queen 5/17/2008

My Girlfriends & I were treated great. The Owner a short Italian man was very Charming & sweet to us & not in that creepy way. He got us an area where we could all sit together in the bar whch was just starting to get crowded. The food was quick & great. It gave you a feel of the older simpler times where there were still mom & pop places everywhere you turned. All the staff was personable & the regulars minded there own business & did not swarm us as is typical when my friends & I get together. A great place to go in Bridgeport Pros: Owner personally greats you & makes you feel welcome more

An oasis for every Soxx fan. 11/20/2007

Ahhh, Jimbo's. Great for a beef sandwich and a few cold cans of beer before a Sox game. This place is usually crowded and never, ever takes any form of payment other than cash. more

Pre-game fun; Post game pain 5/22/2006

I went to Jimbo's before a game and had a beer and a beef sandwich. afterwards, I met more folks there and had a beer outside. Jimbo made sure that everyone sat outside. (he must be concerned about his outdoor permit) I was saying good bye to some friends and standing on the city sidewalk with no beers in our hands. His bouncer told us to 'move along'. We reminded him that we were on a city sidewalk and could stand there. He bounced into us and was a real jerk. I will not go there ever again. Pros: Location Cons: bad staff more

neighborhood fun 7/11/2003

Just cross Armour Park (across from the ballpark) you'll find Jimbo's. It's a simple little neighborhhood bar where you can mingle with sports fans and catch a game, meet up with friends prior to a Sox game or continue the fun after leaving the ballpark. Service is fast and friendly, food is decnt when the kitchen is open, and it's probably the most well known bar in the area. It's convenience to the expressways and red line make it an ideal spot to check out. Pros: close to ballpark, cans of beer!, inexpensive Cons: little bit small, kitchen hours more

Neighborhood hangout 5/27/2002

Jimbo's is great little bar for grabbing a drink before a Sox game. There is really no ""scene"" here: The people who frequent this place are unpretentious neighborhood folks who enjoy their beer and their sports--simple as that. The bartenders are efficient and friendly. more
