DO NOT SHOP AT JEROMES!!! They are a ripoff company with subpar (cheap & cheesy) products. They use very well orchestrated commercials to fool the unsuspecting buyer into believing they are a wholesome ""family"" business. Despite reading all the bad reviews (more bad then good by far) my wife and I went in so we could compare living room furniture prices with other stores. Once there we were helped by a seemingly friendly and honest salesman who showed us several couches and love seats that were less expensive then others we were looking at. Little did we know we would find out how dishonest this person was soon enough.\r \r I expressed my concerns with bad reviews and even showed him some reviews from Yelp* regarding quality issues. He told me that yes there was some truth to the quality issues but now they used a different manufacturer and also offered a warranty that would cover anything that went wrong with the couch for 5 years! In fact he said he would insist on the warranty and he had one himself and had used it an amazing 46 times. Obviously we found that unbelievable but he swore it was the truth and said he can get his wife on the phone to verify that. Even tho he was not wearing a wedding ring we did not find that necessary and decided to purchase the love seat and sofa-sleeper with the additional warranty. He told us the loveseat we were purchasing had a history of the ""pull cord"" for the recliner breaking and the warranty would cover it for five years.\r \r Well he was right, they (both recliners within a week of each other) broke soon after we bought it, we called Jeromes and they said because we purchased the warranty we had to go thru that company. (even tho if we didn't purchase warranty Jeromes would have covered it for first year).\r \r The warranty process was a nightmare, no internet capability, you have to call it in then wait for a form to be snail mailed to you. Fill out the form and find all kinds of information on the furniture such as serial numbers, product numbers, color codes, manufacturer ski numbers etc etc. Then snail mail it back with ALL ORIGINAL RECEIPTS AND WARRANTY COPY, and wait days and days for a call. If you are missing even one of these things the warranty is invalid. \r \r Eventually we got them replaced but a year later they broke again! Additionally the corner section seat has a broken spring protruding from the bottom and the center console has a tear on the top section. Guess what? They only repair things ONE TIME! Oh and yeah, they don't make this piece of crap any more so the other two pieces can't be fixed. Jeromes refused to stand behind their product and after contacting the BBB they offered to prorate the warranty and refund me $79.00.\r \r What a joke. The BBB will not do anything about them because they are a member at the highest level, and as long as they respond to my complaint they don't consider it an issue anymore regardless of wether we are happy with the outcome and their response.\r \r In the meantime we have a love seat that doesn't recline, and has a hole in the console top and a spring sticking out the bottom of the corner piece scratching our wood floors.\r \r I am collecting information now on a class action lawsuit involving anyone who ever purchased a shoddy product from a sleazy, lying salesperson at Jeromes and anyone who purchased their bogus warranties. Please comment on this complaint if you would like to be included in the class and I will contact you privately.\r \r But please tell your friends, hell tell your enemies too...DON'T SHOP AT JEROMES!\r more

Crappy furniture! 5/23/2011

My husband and I purchased a living room outfit from Jerome's in November 2010. After only 3 months of light use the sofa began to fade. (Bonded Leather). I called Jerome's and they asked me to send them pictures and I did. I was told that they would have to contact the manufacture in CHINA to ask them if they could replace it. WOW! We didn't purchase the furniture from the manufacture in China, We purchased it from Jerome's. After a couple of weeks they decided to replace the sofa due to defect in the leather. The new sofa they brought looked great, but to my dismay it also started to fade and look chalky within several weeks of using it. Jerome's sent a tech to our house today to inspect the sofa and he determined that it was defective also. He put me on the phone with the rep and she said that I would need to come in a pick out a new outfit because mine had been discontinued. Why was I not surprised? The stipulations were that I had to come in within 48 hours and I have to choose something of equal or lesser value. I asked her about the protection plan that I currently had on this sofa and she said it would carry over to the new one. We will see. I'm going to demand everything in writing tomorrow when I get to the store. If they cant produce anything to me in writing then I will demand a full refund. I've never had such a horrible experience with a furniture company in all my life. If I had known that Jerome's furniture was this crappy I would have looked else where and spent a few extra bucks on something that I could enjoy for more than 3 months at a time. Don't waste your time. more

BEWARE......poor quality and poor customer service 3/8/2011

We did some research reading reviews before furniture shopping. Jerome's has some pretty bad reviews out there and we were not going to even look at their showroom. however, we bought our sectional sofa next door at Metro Furniture and so went to Jerome's since we were in the parking lot. We purchased, what we thought to be, a nice marble-top table set, along with the matching buffet. We also picked up a futon. Delivery was timely and we loved the furniture.......until we went to actually use the table. Somehow, after only two dinners on the table, the ""marble-top"" surface got marred in 3 places. One looks just like a water stain mark from a glass with condensation on it. Nothing will take it out. We know nothing hot was put down on the table to cause a burn. Getting through to Jerome's service department, and actually speak to someone other than the receptionist took some time and diligence. Finally I was asked to submit photos of the table top damage. Then I was informed this damage is not a manufacture defect and, therefore, no help from Jerome's. A contractor friend informed us that the marble is extremely sensitive to acid, so anything (as simple as a glass of juice) can stain or marr or ""etch"" the marble. DON'T go near Jerome's marble-top tables if you want a table you can actually use to have a meal on!!!! We are livid that the salesman or the delivery/set-up crew did not provide information on how easily this marble-top table surface can get damaged. If they had told us how ridiculously sensitive the marble-top table is, we would at least have had a chance of protecting it's surface. Now I wish I had listened to my gut and, more importantly, all the negative reviews and NOT gone into Jeromes! Sure the stuff may look good, but beware, because the marble-top table we purchased is a piece of crap and Jerome's does not stand behind their products. Pay attention to those reviews and realize most people writing good reviews are writing them immediately upon receiving their furniture. I wonder if their furniture held up better than ours? Shame on you Jerome's!!!!! more

Terrible Customer Service 12/15/2010

As with the person below, same experience I paid around 2K for a bed which was the equivalent to temperpedic beds. I first called them 2-3 months ago complaining of lower back pains and the lady told me that I had to grow into this bed and my body was adjusting to it etc. A couple months go by and my back is still hurting so I call them back and they throw in my face they take no returns, 5 days have gone by and there is nothing they can do ""except"" send a sleep tech out who will diagnose my bed ""according to there standards"". Everytime I call someone to find out who is above the manager in customer service I am told there is no one else but the owner. This company is set up to protect jeromes and not do the ethical thing. I get the feeling the customer service goes through alot of this and is used to this and they are pretty much coached into saying the same things etc, etc trying to save Jeromes as much money as possible. more
