Would give zero stars if I could 9/27/2021

We booked a cabin to rent in Sevierville, TN through Jackson Mountain Homes in June for a 4-night stay: August 16th to 20th. We have stayed at multiple cabins through the years rented through JMH, and it was for the most part, usually, a pleasant experience; that is until this time. The number one request per my 5 adult children was that the cabin have a pool table, and they would prefer a mountain view. It took my wife and me some time to locate a cabin in our price range, with enough beds, a mountain view, and a pool table, but we had success with The Wilderness Lodge cabin. Upon arrival to the cabin on the 16th, after a 7-hour drive, we found no pool table, only the impressions of where it once sat on the carpet. I called JMH customer service immediately. They claimed that they were unaware of the removal of the pool table, and that the owners must have had taken it out. Irregardless of the reason, there wasn’t one. I informed the c.s. rep. that it was unacceptable, and that we obviously wanted to move to another cabin that had a pool table. I was told they would call me back. While I waited for a call, we located another available cabin on JMH website that had enough beds and had a pool table that was available the days we were staying. I had to call JMH back numerous times because they weren’t returning my calls. I was told that the only way we could move is if a manager approved it. So, get a manager’s approval then. Ah, but there was the catch; it could take a manager 5 to 7 business days to return a call. Well, we would be back home then. I asked if our issue could be expedited. Customer service said they would try. I asked for an email address and a phone number to a manager. Couldn’t give me one, and they said that they had sent an email as well as a phone message to a manager. After waiting, hoping to hear from a manager, I called back yet again and was told by yet another c.s. rep that they may be able to get a pool table moved into the cabin the next morning when their maintenance cr more

KOMFY KOZY...keep looking 4/6/2021

Never again, having been in Gatlinburg many times over the past 25 years this is the worst. In the Covid-19 era believe me they didn't do the basics let alone covid standards. I took pic. I wish I could post, dirty rags left behind, the dust laying thick on everything, one of the headboards on the bed was turned backwards, the sheet on our bed looked so bad that I washed them myself before laying down. Dishwasher didn't work, obviously broken when you open the door. Furniture old and broke down. Place sleeps 10 with 3 master suite, cost lots of money and there isn't enough chairs, let alone space to sit 6 people. Save your money move on. more

Horrible Family Vacation 5/31/2020

The View was spectacular!!! The cabin was the most disgusting, nasty, flea infested place I have ever witnessed. The cobwebs greeting us at the front door, the mold and mildew which made the hot tub unable to be used. Outdated broken down furnishings in the living room, sofa cushions flat as a pancake. urine stained throw rugs on the floors in the downstairs bedrooms. and FLEA INFESTED!!!! DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! After contacting them I was offered $65.00... This vacation cost well over $1800.00.. The Fleas were soooo bad that we required medical treatment. Calls to maintenance and emergency numbers all went unanswered. DO NOT STAY AT ANY CABIN THESE PEOPLE MANAGE!!! you will be very disappointed!!! more

Terrible customer service 4/15/2020

Do not rent from this company. They will not refund even if you paid extra for the insurance. They may offer another date but if that doesn’t work for you them they are not worried about repeat business and will take your money. They take forever to respond and when they do you shouldn’t get a response with “I see you got the insurance sorry about that” more

Review on "Just Fur Relaxing" 1/17/2018

We've been staying in Gatlinburg for 30 years and several times a year. This last house we stayed in was by far the worst ever. The house was cute as could be but we like to froze to death. We stayed on December 30 thru January 2, 2018. We had the heat on 72 and it never got above 67 the whole time we were there. We sat wrapped with blankets during the day. We would have taken another cabin but it being New Years, there was nothing left. There were openings around both doors and we had to put a blanket on the side door to keep the cold air out. When we got there, the place smelled so bad that we had to spray Lysol "which I always take with me on trips" and then had to keep candles lit to keep the smell out. It states it has a fireplace and all it was was a very small electric one that put out no heat at all. Their site states it has a grill, air hockey, ping pong, blender and has none of these. Like I said, it was a really cute little cabin but misrepresented the worst I have ever seen. No one should ever have to pay over $1000.00 to stay anywhere and be that miserable. more

Bearway to Heaven 12/11/2017

For the first time in 27 consecutive years at Gatlinburg we were ready to leave. We booked this house for 2 weeks (Oct /Nov) after much consideration, We had 2 main requests, a recliner (my husband is 78 yrs old and has had colon cancer), and wifi, with a view being a plus. The views of this house show a recliner and a couch. Upon entering, there was a couch and a straight chair, the recliner was nonexistent and we were told there was no intention of replacing it or upgrading for comfort. We ended up bringing a rocker from the deck for a decent chair. (Photo still showing recliner) Hot tub was new and very nice, but no steps. Had to bring our ice chest out so we could get in and out. Bath/shower was inadequate - drain not connected, surrounding tile stained and/or dirty. Sink stopper not working. Vacuum furnished had to be used to vacuum the invasion of ladybugs and it left such an odor we had to get air fresheners to combat that. To be fair the lady in Gatlinburg was very nice but apparently her hands were tied as far as any remedies. Most expensive and least desirable house we have stayed in in 27 years. T more

Can defend your civil rights, but can't rent a cabin. 6/15/2017

After booking a cabin on line for my honey moon and paying my $300 down, I was then told that I must be 25 years of age to rent any of their properties. The man who I called and asked about the policy was VERY short and his apology was "hollow". I just find it very confusing that I will be in law enforcement for 4 years, and married for 3 years, before I am eligible to rent a cabin in the smokies.... more

GREAT! 4/12/2006

We rented the Blue Heron log cabin through Jackson Mountain Homes a few summers back and it was gorgeous. It slept 6 - king sized bed in the master bedroom with jaccuzi tub, pull out couch in the living room area, and king bed upstairs in the loft area with smaller bathroom. Full kitchen and hot tub outside. The front porch overlooking the mountains had a swing. It was so cool. I just wish we could have spent more time at the cabin as we did so much site seeing that we didn't really get to enjoy the house that much. The price was just right for a rental (fireplace too, but it was summer). Working with the rental company was pleasant, but please understand that it is the particular cabin that I am recommending which must be rented through Jackson Mountain Homes. I haven't seen or used their other properties. This one (which can be viewed on the web) was perfect. more
