I had my front hubs replaced on my 01 Dodge Dakota on 4/20/2011 at 109,326 miles here at JJ Auto. A few months later I started to notice that something was wrong with my steering. My truck wanted to pull really hard to the left while driving it, I thought it was just out of alignment. Just this week i took my truck to my father in-laws place, as he is a certified mechanic, to look at it and tell me what i needed to fix. After a few minutes we found out the problem, I was missing 3 of the 6 bolts that attach the hub assembly to the vehicle! On my truck there are (3) 14mm bolts per front wheel. On one side i was missing one of these bolts and on the other side i was missing two bolts and the third was partially unscrewed and so loose that it could be tightened and loosed by hand. There was only 1 loose bolt holding the wheel hub assembly (which is what the wheel bolts to) to my truck!!! The next day I called JJ Auto and spoke to Kathy the manager as the owner was out of town. She then contacted the owner and the mechanic and told me that they claim to have done their job properly. She told me that there must be something else going on and possibly ""someone is messing with you and loosened the bolts"". REALLY?!?! I bought this truck at roughly 60,000 miles and this was the first time I had the hub assembly replaced. All 6 bolts managed to stay tight and in place for 49,000 miles but after getting work done on the truck at JJ Auto I have 3 missing bolts and one loose bolt after only 6,393 miles! (Current mileage of truck is 115,719) I have not had any other work done on the truck since then other than an oil change. I have driven it only on surface streets, no off-road traveling. I have spoken to about 8 different auto repair shops all saying the same thing that those bolts are supposed to be put in with locktite and torqued down to specifications and should not come out. (Torque specifications for a 2001 Dodge Dakota 4wd 3.9 L is 123 ft. lbs.) I have had to special order 3 new bolts at over $12 a piece and with the help of my father in-law properly locktite and torque all 6 bolts into place. But since the wheels have been loose and missing bolts, who knows what damage and irregular wear has happened to the spindle and bearings I just had replaced with the hub assembly by JJ Auto. In my fullest opinion JJ Auto did not properly complete the work on my truck, endangered my life and others on the road, and refuse to correct the issue when it was brought to their attention. I will not take any of my vehicles nor do I recommend for anyone to take their vehicles here to have any work done. more
