Iron Sushi popped up one day and I decided to give it a go. It's actually quite alright and a good alternative to my favorite spot in the neighborhood. They do their own little version of Nobu's Rock Shrimp Tempura, which makes for a satisfying appetizer, and their sushi is quite tasty.
The menu can be a little overwhelming at the times when all you're looking for is a simple roll. Some combinations are purely for the adventurous, as they may not agree with the average sushi eater. The interiors and location make it a nice, cozy spot for sushi and hanging out with friends. Overall, I think it makes for a better dining experience than Sushi of Gari, which is just across First Avenue.
