good food Bad serivce 2/19/2012

The food was good. The Service was terrible! Our waitress came back to visit once. Thats it. She was rude. I do not think we will be back any time soon. If she was expecting a tip then the least she could have done was refill my drink. We were not alone either. The table next to us was also neglected. Maybe she was having a bad day but she should have checked her baggage at the door. Very disappointed. more

Sort of disappointed 1/27/2012

As a lifelong carnivore, Brazilian steakhouses are some of my favorite places to indulge. By far my favorite is Texas de Brazil, which I try to eat at every time I am in Ft. Worth. Seattle has Ipanema, with unfortanately pales in comparison. For the price, the quality of meat, service, and atmosphere is just not up to par. It has too much of a casual atmosphere and the meats were a little dry in my opinion. The staff seemed overworked and a little annoyed. The salad bar was pretty good, however. If there was a half-off Groupon available I would probably go back, but for without a discount I think I will save my money for somewhere else. more

LackLuster at Best 8/16/2011

Whenever I travel, I love to eat at Brazillian Style Steakhouses. Many have includued Fogo de Chao, Pampas both in Culver City & las Vegas, Fogo De Brasa, and a few others. This was by far the worst. The Service was terrible. Slow to fill drinks, Salad Bar was so so, there was at least a 20 minute lull, were they didn't even come by the table with anything. The Meat that they did bring had too much salt & pepper. They tried to bring Bison & Boor but those failed too impress. Never going back for sure. more

Beaware of Rip Off Garage recommended by Brazillian Grill 8/14/2011

We have been there three to four times and the experience have been positive except for today, It's a good place for meat eater and expect a big variety of meats. But today they kept coming back with top sirloin steak, pepper steak, and pork sausage most of the time. The six of us stopped eating quickly because were fed up with the same meat over and over. The biggest surprise came when we picked up our car at the recommended parking garage (""Ipanema offers a partial 10% parking validation at the Harbor Steps Parking Garage"".. With the 10% off advertising on their web site, we paid close to $21 for less than three ours. We called the restaurant and complained about it. I was first told that nobody could address my concern. When I asked for the manager I was told that the manager was not available. I dropped the call and called again and insisted talking to the manager and he finally picked up the call. He kept declaring that the restaurant had nothing to do with the parking garage and could not control the garage either. I reminded that this is the recommended parking from their own web site and he should not have declared this. After a long discussion he reluctantly agreed that they should do something about their web site. We will see, Through out the whole conversation I could not detect any sincereness. I would have given them better rating if not for the inconsistency of food and the surprise. AFter all we are there for the food AND how we are treated right? more

Great for meat lovers 6/20/2011

I just took my wife to Ipanema for our Anniversary and had a great experience. The manager was very personable and friendly. The food was great as always. We went at 5:30 and it wasn't crowded at all. I would go again. more

Great food pretty good service 3/21/2011

We always go with a large party and it works great with the type of service and large buffet. No coordination of serving, eat when you are hungry, works great. Attitudes not always great from the servers but I've found that to be pretty universal at currasco places. Meat selection is excellent and very well grilled. Don't ask for sauce. They will frown. more

Bad Attitude, Service and Overpriced! 12/12/2010

From the first moment we walked in the door, the two hostess were not the friendlist of hostesses...which is quite surprising because the hostess is usually the most courteous people. We waited for an hour for a table of 5 even though we asked them to be seated and there was an open. Then, the waitress came around, for the two hours we were there, for about 3 times for our drinks, bills, etc. The lamb and shrimp were not coming around as many times as the rest of the steak. We were a table of 5 and they stuck the 18% gratuity. When asked, the waitress indicated she had no ability to change and had to ask the manager. I don't see why she couldn't validate the bill before she puts it down and then when she returned w/ the fixed bill, she told us next year, there is a required gratuity for all parties. We are not worried since we will NOT be back. 40 bucks is not worth the obnoxious attitude that this whole restaurant have (from hostess, waitress and mgmt). more

Bad Service & Employees Stole B/day Gifts 10/11/2010

We showed up to a party of 15 and instantly got attitude. Bad weather kept all our people from getting there right on time and we were refused seating although there were 6-8 of us waiting at the bar. But we did get a disclaimer-style lecture about food service seating policies from some bleach blonde host with a very self righteous attitude while the bunch of us didn't get offered any drinks by the bartenders. I've personally been here before for lunch and when my best friend asked me for suggestions on her birthday dinner, this naturally came up. The meat is very good, the buffet is at least palatable, though pretty generic. But the continuing poor service was inexcusable. It took a very long time for our waittress to get drinks and she disappeared for the first hour of the meal so buffet plates were stacking up pretty high and glasses were empty. At one point a meat-bringer asked if ""she was finished"" about a male friend (who sports a goatee and is clearly masculine) who had gone to the bathroom, and when corrected the employee scoffed and repeated with a smirk that he'd thought he was a girl. At the end of the meal we were brought the wrong ticket. It took a minute to realize that a bill for 6 people had been brought for out party of 15. We are honest people and let them know it was the wrong bill, but that poor waittess would have had to pay a lot out of pocket at till balancing time, like $600.00. Mistakes are always made, we weren't upset about this, but it all just kept adding up. I had brought my bff a gift, wrapped in a bag with a card and a gift card inside, which unfortunately she left under her chair. When she called the next morning she had trouble communicating with a Brazilian employee with an excruciatingly difficult accent, but after a very long conversation gathered that the gift was there and the woman remembered it being turned in the night before to the podium by a bus boy, and named off the items- card, gift card and gift. My bff then went to pick up the items only to find that the card and gift card were no longer there. The woman from the phone conversation turned the matter over to that same bleach blonde attitude guy from the night before. He refused to even admit that parts of the gift weren't there, even though his employee had named the items on her own and said she remembered them. He was extremely argumentative and seemed to be taking the matter personally , as if it was a personal accusation. Basically after a long altercation he was still refusing even a simple apology for the thievery committed by one of his employees and she left in tears. The only thing she got from this ""professional"" was his email and the promise to forward it uncensored to the restaurants owner, which he seemed reluctant to do. This matter has been completely mishandled. A simple apology was all that was needed. I believe this manager needs a new job, NOT in customer service. We still haven't heard back from him, but really there is nothing they can do, since like I said, all she wanted was acknowledgment and apology. The service was mediocre by everyone except the bus boy who kept our water glasses full and had delivered the lost gift, intact, to the management. more

What an awesome experience! 6/6/2010

We 'dropped' in at 630pm on a Sat evening. THEY WERE booked through 830pm but put us on the list to call in case of a cancellation. We enjoyed our time in Seattle and got a call at 730pm. It was two adults and two children. We were VERY VERY well taken care of. First, with the drinks and desert waitress explaining to us 'how it works' to the waiters that were on our table as soon as the 'sign to serve' was on green! Water alWAYS full, and food was coming for as long as you can stand eating it! The kids were amazed. Everything from the meat, to the salads to the deserts and specialty drinks was AWESOME!! To experience this place to it's full potential, PLAN ON STAYING A WHILE!! It's all you can eat folks, AND SO DARN WORTH IT!!!!!! To have a 'bad experience' here, YOU have to go in with a seriously negative attitude. They were bending over back wards to make sure we had a fantastic experience!! Will go back when ever we can! If you are looking for a fun place to truly enjoy food, THIS IS IT! Pros: Great service, fantastic food, NICE NICE NICE servers! Cons: Plan at least two hours to do this right! ;-) more

Cons: low on fried bananas sometimes... (: more

Terrible service 4/14/2010

The place, atmosphere and food were ok . However, the service is by far the worst that I have ever experienced. I went there with my gf and we had been ignored couple times on purpose. The waiter brought the food to the table in front of us, skipped us, and brought it to the one behind us, and went back to the bar. We had eye contact and I am sure he knew I wanted the food. There's some food that I wanted to try and never had a chance, water never got refilled...I don't know if that's some discriminations there but nevermind cause I know I won't go there again anymore. Pros: food, place Cons: service more

Meat, meat and more meat! 3/11/2010

Delicious and fun -- try the drink of Brazil, the caiprinha, with your meal. A very long salad and vegetable bar starts out the meal. Then, throughout the meal, waiters bring long skewers of the exotically braised meat, chicken, pork, lamb and shrimp. They just keep coming and coming around until you tell them to stop. A kind of a gimmick, but amusing and delicious. Pros: unique way to eat that is interactive and high protein! Cons: can be busy -- a bit of a wait more

Meat on a stick until you can't eat anymore. 2/27/2010

This is a great place for a night out, or to treat out of town guests visiting seattle. Its brazilian grill which means they bring you unlimited amounts of meat on a stick until you turn your card over indicating you can not possibly eat another bite. At lunch they have 9 different types and at dinner 19. Lunch is a much better deal if you are on a limited budget, but if you are like the people I dine with you will have to go back at some point to try the remaining 11 kinds. For the all you can eat price you also get all you can eat salad bar which often includes some warm sides as well. They also bring you the most delicious fried bananas at some point in the meal but unfortunately they will only bring this to you one time. If you work downtown or have the day off go for the weekday lunch for only 17$, but prepared to be stuffed and unable to return to work without a nap. Pros: Lots of vareity, good for a night out, great salad bar Cons: expensive. more

fantastic place! 9/30/2009

Six of us went there for dinner, the place is vibrant, fun and extremely friendly, while we din't know what to expect our waitress guide us to the whole experience and it was awsome!! the 'mesa do frios"" is superb with salads that I never seen in other places, the pasadores brougth all kinds of meats including bufalo, wild board, tenderloin etc etc over and over again tender, juicy and delicious..the wonderful brazilian music added to our experience..A great restaurant second to none!1 we'll be back soon for more... Pros: food, ambiance, service Cons: no parking on site more

Had a great time 9/29/2009

Why do we go out to eat? For great food, and this was great food and tons of it. Four of us went out last Saturday night for a birthday celebration. Two of our party ate the meat and two had the cold bar option. I was very impressed with the cold bar and next time I go I will try more items from the cold bar and cut back on the NEVER ENDING supply of perfectly cooked meats. \r Also the grilled pineapple is out of this world.\r \r I'm sorry other reviewers did not have a fantastic dinning experience, but we sure did.\r \r Pros: Awsome food Cons: Not a big enough stomach, will have to go back again !!! more

Good food, good location, good ambience 6/14/2009

I'm quite sure people have their reasons for negative comments. As for us (family of 4), we enjoyed the Rodizio dinner very much. Perhaps the key is to make reservation, start early and request how well/raw you want your meat to be cooked. We went there at 5pm and everything was perfect since we're the first few parties. The service was quick and friendly. The presentation of the food was excellent and everything was abundant. Within the first 30 minutes, we have already sampled all varities of meat plus pineapple (you have to try it). I'd recommend this place if you like meat. Even if you're vegetarian, they have plenty of non-meat dishes to keep you entertained. It's true that towards the end of the night, some of the dishes were not being replenish but we were able to request the waitress to bring us what we want. Overall, we're very happy with the value, food and overall experience. Pros: Variety of meat, vegetable, pasta, potato, fruits etc Cons: A little messy towards the end of the night more

best grilled for cowboys 4/29/2009

saturday night chaos 4/5/2009

We waited forever at the bar for a table, then asked if we could be seated in the lounge instead. Our server was also one of the bartenders and knew we had been waiting a very long time, so he went above and beyond to accomodate us. He bought us a round of drinks and was very attentive and friendly, which helped to make up for the infrequent meat service. Some cuts were very greasy and fatty, which offset the others that were dry and flavorless. We repeatedly asked our server for specific cuts which were then delivered as we'd asked, (more shrimp, peppersteak, pineapple especially) but it looked to us like the dining room was first in line for meat, the lounge getting what was left over. Oh well. On a positive note, we ordered a bottle of wine, and our server recommended another bottle instead which was a few dollars less than the one we'd ordered, and it was spectacular. These days, every buck counts. Pros: service Cons: meat more
