Best Valentine's Day at Inn at Parkside 3/29/2010

We stayed in Dream just after Valentine's Day. Couldn't have been more lovely or romantic for the occasion. The room is very comfortable, stylish, quiet and private! We had a great time mingling with other guests, the owner Diane and Innkeeper Erin at wine and cheese. And being we had a huge lunch and decided to skip dinner, the spread was more than satisfying. We also had massages with Emily and Pat. They were both amazing! Pat really worked out some issues in my neck and the salt body scrub left my skin feeling like a baby. The jacuzzi and spa shower were both perfect and relaxing. Chocolate covered strawberries and champagne...does it get any better? We stayed in our room the rest of the evening and felt as if we were in our own little world. And breakfast in bed was a luxury in itself. Couldn't have been more perfect! Thank you Inn and Spa at Parkside for a very memorable V-Day! Pros: Welcoming, Romantic, Cozy, Great Service & Breakfast Cons: That we couldn't stay longer! more

Massage Oasis 11/8/2009

My massage was exactly what I needed after a long week of bills, work, and overall drama. The Inn at Parkside offers a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Michael, my massage therapist, was professional and outstanding. The best deep tissue massage I have ever had. Since my first appointment, I have scheduled other follow-ups and it is easy to get the same massage therapist at a time that fits my schedule. I would highly recommend this spa for massages. Pros: Excellent Customer Service, Relaxing Atmosphere Cons: Cost more

The Inn at Parkside is a pleasant surprise in downtown sacramento 9/16/2009

Stayed here because I had to go to a work event in Sacramento. I was bit thrown off by it's location but when I arrived I was surprised by the quality and uniqueness of our rooms. We were given a beautiful room but unfortunately it had an issue with the bathroom and we were immediately upgraded to a larger suite. This is a perfect place for anyone wanting a quick getaway or a great spa weekend with the girls. more

A hidden getaway in Downtown Sacramento! 8/19/2009

The Inn and Spa at Parkside is truly a hidden getaway in Downtown Sacarmento! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with friendly faces eager to make our stay perfect. The owner Diane was an absolute sweetheart and so accommodating! We stayed in the Kiss room and it was so beautiful, comfortable and romantic. Best bed I ever slept in and the jacuzzi was awesome! We also had spa treatments and the massage therapists were amazing! I had a facial with Kristin and she was not only so sweet and easy to talk to, but gave me the best facial ever! Everything was just perfect. Mingling with the other guests and Diane at wine and cheese was so much fun and our breakfast was delicious! Plus they bring it to your room if you want...what's better than breakfast in bed?! I would highly reccommend the Inn and Spa at Parkside to travellers, locals and just for a spa day! Pros: Charming, quiet, quaint and great service more

Best Bed & Breakfast anywhere! 8/18/2009

Inn at Parkside, oh, where to start? I absolutely love this place. The inn is located near both midtown and Old Sacramento giving you the opportunity to enjoy the downtown activities, shops, and restaurants. But the best part is that while you are at the inn you can go out, or just stay in. All of the rooms are amazing, I've peeked into all of them :) and the photos just don't do them justice. Every stay is different just like each of the rooms, since each one is decorated differently. Some show off the original character of the historic mansion while others boast a more modern flair. Some even have spa showers, jacuzzi tubs, and patios. Breakfast has been superb every time I have stayed, and I always look forward to wine and cheese hour. It's so much fun to enjoy a glass of wine while sitting in the living room or out on the patio. You can spend time alone with your companion or socialize with the owners, innkeepers, and other guests of the inn. Outside on the tiled patio you can enjoy the sounds of the waterfalls and fountains, lie around on the chaises, and at night take advantage of the huge gazebo-covered hot tub. Inside, the owners have a collection of DVDs and books for you to enjoy during your stay. Don't forget all of the extras available when you stay here. You can call the innkeepers and have champagne and the best chocolate-covered strawberries brought to your room. The Spa Bloom is also on the premises, so you can enjoy a wonderful massage or facial. The owners and innkeepers are wonderful. They do everything possible to make sure you enjoy your stay and make you want to visit again soon. I know I will be! One stay here and you will be hooked, just like me! Pros: Comfy beds, relaxing atmosphere, amazing staff! more

18 hour stay 8/18/2009

My wife & I spent 18 hours at the Inn & Spa at Parkside in Sacramento to celebrate our35th anniversary. We loved that the staff was attentive to every detail of our stay. Our room was beautiful and spacious enough that we had space to spread out our belongings. To our surprise, there were strawberries dipped in chocolate and sparkling wine waiting in the room. At 9pm after an early dinner we slipped down the hall from our room and had a late evening massage. Next morning, instead of my usual daily ritual of a ?bowl of rocks? (Grape Nuts), we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and a walk through the adjacent park. This is a very good bed & breakfast that I recommend to everyone. Pros: Great staff more

hidden gem 5/31/2009

I received a facial and a massage. Both were excellent. My esthetician, Gina was very friendly. After reading the answers to the questions I filled out, she was careful not to be too overly aggressive with the treatments and the result is beautiful, glowing skin. As for my massage, Jessica, was fantastic. She explained the process thoroughly and she checked in periodically to make sure the pressure was okay. Booking was easy and the receptionists were friendly and accommodating. I would definitely come again and recommend it to my friends. more

Comfort without being at the Sheraton! 3/6/2009

My wife and I just love to stay downtown when in Sacramento. We often make the drive up from the bay area to visit with her family and find the Inn at Parkside delightfully perfect for our hospitality needs! more

spa treatment 10/22/2008

The greatest perk to this place, is the spa treatment. The rooms were revamped with different themes. Very reasonable price, friendly enviorment, with great service. Don't forget to set your self up for the massages or facials. Very invigorating. more

Best kept secret 9/7/2008

I have lived in Sacramento for over 50 years and was not familiar with The Inn at Parkside until a friend recently told me about it. My wife and I stayed in the Tranquility Room and it was fantastic. The bath was very relaxing and the bed was soooo comfortable. The room was tastefully decorated and had two nice comfortable chairs that we sat in and looked out the window through a beautiful tree that shaded our room. We turned on the ceiling fan and escaped into a feeling of being in a tropical paradise. We were rewarded with a great night's sleep and had an outstanding breakfast. We were the first ones up so we felt special and the food and service was exceptional. This was the nicest B and B that I have been to and I recommend this place to all the over 50 crowd in Sacramento that has not had the pleasure of staying there. This is one of the best kept secrets from us ""mature"" folk here in beautiful Sacramento. more

What a treat!! 9/4/2008

We stayed at the Inn at Parkside to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday and we had such a wonderful time. Not only were both buildings beautiful on the outside, they were so tastefully decorated on the inside...put us in a relaxing mood instantly. We were greated graciously and were escorted to our room after getting a nice tour around the beautiful property. It is nestled among a cozy neighborhood full of trees that shower the property with beautiful purple flowers. The room was wonderful, the bed was super comfortable and the shower was a dream! The wine and cheese hour was a really nice touch before our dinner on the town. Breakfast the following morning was wonderful; a fresh-out-of-the-oven homemade muffin preceded fresh fruit and a homemade quiche. Our massages were fantastic...they really knew what they were doing and really listened to our requests/needs. I would definitely recommend The Inn at Parkside to anyone and my husband and I can't wait to go back. What a treat!! Pros: Beautiful relaxing rooms and professional massages Cons: My stay was too short. more

Great ambiance and decor 9/4/2008

My girlfriend and I and her girlfriend and partner spent a night recently at the Inn and Spa at Parkside for my girlfriend's friend's birthday. They were able to accommodate us by giving us rooms side by side in the front of the historic inn building. The rooms were fabulous, with interesting decor, and thoughtful amenities. Service was very good. We went out to dinner and played in old town Sacramento just minutes away from the inn. After returning to the inn we enjoyed sipping wine on the nicely landscaped patio in back of the inn. In the morning everyone reported sleeping well and then we enjoyed a great breakfast together. This is a great inn to celebrate an anniversary, birthday or some other social occasion or just a short staycation without traveling far from the Sacto area. I highly recommend it. more

Downtowns Hidden Gem 7/10/2008

I am pleased to share my little downtown secret -'The Inn at Parkside'. It is quietly nestled across from Southside Park; if a friend had not told me about it I'd have never known it was there. Now let me confess, I love classic architecture!! This refurbished 1930's art-deco mansion turned B&B/dayspa piqued my interest at first sight. Now mind you, the location is convenient, but not ideal. Parking is sometimes a problem during noontime, but once you walk in the door the ambiance is magical. The soft music, the candles, the accomodating staff; it all came together to make my very first massage memorable. And when it came time for an in-town romantic retreat we stayed on the 3rd floor of their new building next door, 'Parkside House'- also memorable. I now send all my best clients to the Inn at Parkside because I know they will be well taken care of, and the kudos will come back to me. This is one secret I'm glad to share! more

Best getaway in town! 7/8/2008

I had an unusually bad day when I pulled up to the Inn at Parkside. I was really grumpy, and had no idea what to expect. When I walked through the door I was greeted by the manager who had the biggest smile on her face. The place was well maintained and had a very cozy atmosphere. Already my mood was calming and I was beginning to relax. Lounge was the name of my room, and thats exactly what I did. Honestly, it was best bath I have ever taken (spaciaous enough for two & with jacuzzi jets!), and an enclosed shower, balcony, and huge flatscreen TV that all put me right into relaxation mode. I called the front desk to see about a massage. With no delay she set me up with an appointment. I have only had a few before, but this was just what the doctor ordered. I finished with my massage, feeling better than I had in a long time. Needless to say, I fell asleep in an much better mood. Pros: quiet, and close Cons: parking can be difficult. more

Business trip turns into a wonderful getaway... 7/3/2008

My husband and I had to visit Sacramento for an unexpected business trip & were delighted to stumble upon the Inn at Parkside for our overnight stay instead of a boxy hotel. The new owner, Diane, was incredibly friendly and helpful as well as the rest of the staff. We felt like we were at home instead of away. It was only a 5 minute drive from where we had to work downtown and there were plenty of great restaurants within a mile. Breakfast was superb (the homemade e' claire from Chef Erin was to die for!) and filling enough to skip lunch. We opted for a last minute couples massage, since they were able to do a 9pm appointment for us, and they were the best we've ever had...even better than the ones we had in Thailand! We will definitely make it a point to get away to Sacramento again, simply for the pleasure of relaxing at this Inn. Who knew working out of town could be so enjoyable? more

Looks can be deceiveing... 6/23/2008

To fully appreciate my review, I need loads of space...but for now here is the short and sweet (bitter?) review of this Inn & Spa: Pros: Free wine & cheese, in room spa service, tasty breakfast, comfy bed. Cons: Poorly trained staff, broken fixtures, room too hot, too noisy, fireplace went out. more

New client, will be back! 4/21/2008

On my birthday, I decided to treat myself to a badly needed facial. I had heard good things about Bloom Spa, so I made an appointment. I have had many facials in the past, and this was the best ever! Kristin was my esthetician and she was amazing! She made some specific product recommendations for my skin concerns (after I asked for her opinion). The aromatherapy was beautiful as was the massage. I went during the week, so I got the midweek special. This facial felt so luxurious, that I left not only feeling very well taken care of, but also that I had just found one of the best bargains in town. more

Very pleasurable spa experience 4/12/2008

After working for days on end, I needed some time to indulge myself. After looking at their impeccable website, I decided that Spa Bloom would be right for me. It is located in on a serene street, lined with trees, in a historical building. While it was obvious the place was old, it was still beautifully decorated and very presentable. I was given a male massager, which at first I was uncomfortable with, but soon found Michael was very professional and very good, however a little rough on the salt rub, leaving my skin burning and stinging. Fortunately for me, I also ordered a bath in one of their jacuzzi tubs. It was very comfortable, very relaxing, just a little dirty. With my facial, Cindy was very professional and courteous. I was even convinced to buy some of their products. Afterwards, there was wine and cheese served in the lobby with the other guests. The best part was the intoxicating smell of Lavender following me throughout the experience. Pros: Professional, relaxing, pleasantly located, the use of aromatherapy Cons: A little pricey more
