Best

It has been about 2 years since I have been to Indika and I was very impressed with how the restaurant has matured over time. Years ago, I thought that the service was sluggish an...

Worst

I ordered a Med Rare Filet Mignon and it was cut in the shape of a pyramid. Obviously it was not cooked to a consistent temp the whole way through. The edges were well done and th...

Nice setting but ordinary food 8/19/2005

I had heard good reviews of this place. I was impressed with the setting and ambience. I would describe it as cozy and beautiful. The service was great too. However, the food was not all that great. The recipes were innovative but way too spicy. Please dont go there if you are looking for Indian food. It wasnt an inexpensive dinner outing either. Overall, not a great value Pros: ambience, concept, service Cons: food more

Great Place 8/17/2005

The food and the service are very good. The only bad thing is that it is pretty loud when the dinning room is full. It is necessary to make reservations for a Friday or Saturday night (you can even make reservations as late as noon on the day you are planning to attend) Pros: food, service Cons: noise more

Very Good Indian Fusion Food 6/10/2005

This is an Indian fusion restaurant in the same vein as Tabla in New York and Mantra in Boston, although I liked both of those places slightly better than Indika. The food is an artful blend of Indian flavors and western gourmet sensibilities. Service and decor were both good. Houston has several good Indian restaurants but this is the only good Indian fusion I have found and I will continue to make the drive to its outside the loop location. Pros: Very good food, Good service more

Just alright 11/28/2004

If you are looking for traditional Indian food this is not the place. However the food was very unique. I liked my dish however my wife thought her food was not pleasant at all. The service was very good and the decor is great. Just remember... THIS IS NOT NORMAL INDIAN FOOD. Pros: Service, Desert, Decor Cons: , odd menu selection more

Jewel in Memorial 1/20/2004

I love this place! All the spices and dishes are blended perfectly.. The spices are not too overbearing. I really like the Foie Gras appetizer. Also the Lamb chop dish really shines. more

One of the best dinners.... 7/29/2003

One of the best experiences I've had in a long time. This place was absolutely fantastic. It was a great place to go if you want to splash a little bit for a nice bottle of wine and dinner. The ambience was very nice and quiet as well. There were no waiters running around you, no loud big dinner groups, or a never ending waiting list. It was quaint little hidden restaurant. The fish was very very fresh. The duck and venison were extremly tender. Pros: food, ambiance more

Upscale Indian 10/5/2002

We have eaten twice at Indika. The first time, we showed up on a Saturday with no reservations. Anita was so accomodating - I will forever be grateful. The food was great. I lived in NYC for several years, and the quality of this food reminds me of some of the great NYC Indian restaurants, like Dawat. It is very innovative. The service is a little spotty - I tend to overlook that as due to the newness of the place. I expect that it will improve over time. The eggplant and the duck are our favorite dishes, but there is a lamb combo that our friends shared that looked delicious. We started with some extraordinary crabmeat samosas. I don't usually go to far outside the Loop - but this is definitely worth the drive! Pros: Great Food, Owner is so NICE Cons: Spotty Service more
