Fun for Car Lovers 5/17/2006

I have been to the speedway many times (usually for the 500) on trips to Indy. The museum is a fantastic spot to stop in if you have the time. The cars on display are beauties and the exhibits provide a good read for both racing fanatics and those who are only mildly interested in the sport. Cars, photos, trophies and gear are all on display. Just walking around the track is fun! more

Was the husbands idea to go! 5/16/2006

If you look at my pictures you will see me in the #1 Good Year car - because it rained all day that day, we went inside the Hall of Fame Museum to take a look around. My spouse loved museums. The museum is open 364 days a year from 9 a.m. - 5 pm. Note that it is closed on Christmas day. Was very interesting and glad I got the pic in the car! more

The world's largest sporting events 3/30/2006

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the racing capital of the world. The Indianapolis 500, United States Gran Prix, and Allstate 400 at the Brickyard (NASCAR) races are held here. The track offers great views from most all seats, but higher is always better when purchasing tickets. Bring earplugs - the cars are extremely loud. Food is available throughout the grounds. more

A Great Day of Fun! 8/9/2005

The Speedway offers a great day of fun! They have several races per year including the indy 500 , formula one, and the Brickyard race. I have live in Indy all my life, and this is truly the most poopular reason for people to come to Indy! The track is a good, fun and safe place for the family. There is also a museum of racing on the grounds. more

Fund day for racing enthusiasts 7/9/2005

I'm not a race fan, but I've lived here 13 years and can't escape Indy 500 mania. We usually end up bringing out of town guests to the track. You can even drive around the track if you want to pay for the priviledge on days there isn't any racing activities. There is a golf course in the center, if you're into that. The thing that bugs, however is that my friend just wanted to get a Tshirt. Not interested in the museum or the track, just the gift shop. They wanted to charge her admission for the gift shop!! We found an Indy 500 Tshirt at the mall and called it a day. more
