Dr Jane 4/1/2010

Just a note of thanks to Dr. Jane and staff of IRAH..Yesterday morning March 31st..we took our precious 3 yr.old pug in because she had took suddenly ill...Dr. Jane immediately gave us a grim report of cancer with little or no chance of recovery..Our baby had kept her illness hid until the last few days.. giving only small gradual indications we had failed to recognize until at this time she was suffering.. Feeled with shock and despair, Dr.Jane helped us with our decision on what was best for Peachie..God Bless this lady she is the best, most compassionate vet we have ever met.. The very next day we received a personal note of condolence from her..We recommend IRAH in the highest regard... more

Indian Ridge Animal Hospital 3/15/2009

I took my little pup here after taking her to a vet in Wise Va. I wish I had found IRAH first, Dr. Buddy Stribling is our vet and the best to us, not only did he quickly address my pups situation, (she was sick not eating much nor drinking anything and she was in pain) he got her 100% better overnight. Living in Wise Va. it is well worth the drive to Kingsport for our puppy. They are cheaper than others and they know what they are doing. If you happen upon this post and have not yet been to Animal Ridge Animal Hopsital or perhaps you are still deciding on a vet, this is the place to go. I would recommend this place to everyone. Also friendly people here receptionist and doctors. Pros: THE VERY BEST 5 stars * * * * * more

The best place around to take a sick ferret 1/16/2009

I needed to find a vet fast for my lil Tigger who refused to eat and was having an off-colored diarrhea. I was really worried about him and read some reviews online to see where I should take him. There are no vets close to Wise, VA that I would bother with taking him to, so I found that Bill Vaughn had quite a bit of experience with ferrets. We didn't have an appointment so we had to wait a lil bit, but it was fine because after we got back there and got him checked out, we got him some meds and I really feel like he knows what he's doing and that he cares. The medicine was very cheap to what I was expecting so I have no complaints whatsoever, I'm just glad that my lil guy can get better now. more

Rowdy's Mom 1/3/2009

I took my Shi Tzu to IRAH until I moved to Indiana. I have not found anyone in IN that can compare to the Doctors at IRAH. Price or Service. I travel back to the area often and I always take my little one there to board. I tried to board him once at the vet in IN and when we picked him up for a couple of weeks he seemed very upset. Every time I pick him up here he is so happy, which let's me know that he had a good experience. I do not mind standing in line because it's like a good place to eat. If there is a crowd you know it's a good place and worth the wait, worth the travel and worth the money spent ! ! ! more

Outstanding Care 10/10/2008

We are relatively new to the area and were casually searching for a vet for about six months. I had called several to try to find the right vet for our needs but hadn't made a decision. It wasn't until we had an emergency that we found and chose our new vet. One of our tiny long coat chihuahua babies went into distress (severe hypoglycemia) that came on extremely rapidly and was near death. We rushed her to Indian Ridge (without an appointment) and they gave us almost instantaneous attention. The vet was remarkably caring and knowledgeable. She kept little Hailey for tests and treatment for the day. We found later that Hailey had an underlying infection and along with the hypoglycemia went to into distress three more times in her care. We also found that they had a vet tech sitting with her for the entire day to ensure that she had the best chance for survival. What's more, to our utter amazement, she called us the day after we brought our little girl home to find out how the treatment was going. We are so very grateful for her help and look forward to a long partnership with Indian Ridge Animal Hospital and their terrific staff! Excellent Veterinarians! 8/5/2008

We have had much experience with Indian Ridge Animal Hospital. The vets are always very caring and animal-oriented. We also go by to pick up all needed medicines such as flea treatments. more

IRAH is GREAT! 1/8/2008

I have taken my dogs, cats, ferrets, mice and rats to see Matt Mears and Jane and Bill Vaughn at Indian Ridge. The initial line is always long because this hospital is a popular place, but once you are checked in, you can go to the back side of the lobby and sit on the benches to wait for your room. The doctors at IRAH have always been very helpful and in the case of my mice and rats, they were always willing to read the information I brought in about their care and we would decide on a course of action together for the treatment. They are extremely knowledgeable, even with exotics, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Their pricing for exotics care is the best in the tri-cities! I drive to Kingsport from Bristol just to have my animals seen at this veterinarian hospital. more

Care Received 12/28/2007

I took my dog there for 7 years. The vets were all super nice. Dr. Jane Vaughan is awesome! She even called me once at home to talk about my dog. They provided excellent care for her. She was on medications and they were reasonably priced. Highly recommend this office. I would still use them if I didn't live in Johnson City now. more

Indian Ridge Animal Hospital 9/6/2007

I have taken my dog there for about three years now and have been satisfied with the care he has received. The reception area is a little small and you must stand and wait to be taken to a room. The exam rooms are small as well. However, I have always found the staff very competent and friendly. The cost of routine care is about the same as most other vets in the area. more

One Try Was Enough 6/6/2005

I took my small dog to Indian Ridge. You have to stand crowded together in a long line, like cattle; apparently it's like that all the time there. I had to hold my dog because of all the other (big) dogs in line. It seemed chaotic, and no one seemed to really hear what you were saying. Then they shuttle you into a room, and the vet who came in talked to me like I was an idiot. He was very disrespectful, even though I was just trying to ask questions and learn about the treatment he was going to give my dog (he kept him overnight). more
